Not sure what Carolina is after to be honest. Kreider potentially, but perhaps Georgiev is a guy they'd be after as well.

Good call , Canes could use Georgiev but who can they offer back ? Good young winger ideally

Watching the game tonight Colorado is still having some issues in goal.

I know Colorado won’t deal Newhook in a deal for Kreider but what about Kreider and Georgiev.

Or Kreider and Georgiev for Jost Kaut and 1st. To little to much.

They also have Bowers/Greer And Timmins whom could be added to some package.

I don’t want to deal Georgiev but I’d be willing to package him for a large return.

Did you really expect us to compete this year??

I think that's the biggest issue

This team is 2 years (after this one) away from competing
My expectations haven't changed. We're a bubble team this year. We should have a much better chance at making playoffs next.

IF we do get into the playoffs.... a hot goalie is all it takes.

I know it's been one game but I find these goalie stat lines remarkably similar:

Igor 3.05 / .906
Lundqvist 3.10 / .910
Georgiev 3.17 / .909

Gotta wonder where this is headed. Georgie on the move by/before the deadline IMHO

When I refer to competing, I'm talking about the Stawy Cup.

I think there's a pretty significant gap between competing for a PO spot and competing for the Cup.

I prefer the latter and I think we are 2+ years away from that.

Rangers need to do their best to get a young NHL forward back for Georgiev if they move him. It does not have to be some star destined player, but a 3rd liner with maybe a 2nd line ceiling is what you need. This team needs depth. They need to upgrade Smith. Fogarty will be replaced by Lemieux when he comes back...or Howden goes to that spot with Lemmy back on the 3rd line.

Addressing the forward depth can help take a little bit of pressure off the Defense because you have the puck in the opposition’s zone longer. Last night it was Colorado’s depth that kept them in that game. Quality shifts. Compher with 2 goals.

Then after that next thing to address would be LD. That you can look at in the offseason.

Atheletic released their first trade board:

1. Chris Kreider, New York Rangers – According to an NHL source, neither side is rushing contract talks and there have been no real discussions at this point about an extension. With Hall off the market, Kreider now becomes the top rental forward available. “He can fly, he can shoot. He knows where to go. He will hit with some anger. He will play hard. He’s got a bomb. He’s a really good guy,” said an executive.
Lightning GM Julien BriseBois has shown reticence about going into the rental market, as he mentioned in this Joe Smith piece, but Kreider would be a fantastic addition for the Lightning, who happen to have an extra first-round pick because of the J.T. Miller deal and that’s likely what it’s going to take. The Rangers can point to the Kevin Hayes deal last year that included a first-round pick, Brendan Lemieux and a conditional fourth-round pick as a starting point in negotiations.

11. Alexandar Georgiev, New York Rangers – He’s a wild card for teams looking at the goalie market. It wouldn’t be surprising to hear that the Maple Leafs have inquired on this front. But even with the jam up in goal for the Rangers, the asking price isn’t believed to be cheap.

15. Anthony DeAngelo, New York Rangers – The Rangers would listen on DeAngelo in large part because of the depth of defense in the system. For teams looking for offense on the back end, he’d fit a need even if there are shortcomings defensively. Another potential restricted free agent in New York, Ryan Strome, could likely be had at the right price.

I know its probably not a popular opinion but with the emergance of Fox you have to at least listen on offers for ADA right?

I havnt kept tabs on this thread for a few months so i dont know what the popular opinion is.

I think Kreider and Georgiev are the only two guys to be traded. There a very slim outside chance DeAngelo gets traded if the right deal comes along AND the Rangers are comfortable promoting Keane.

Strome i think there is less than 1% chance he is moved.

Not to sure about that....Also ADA played the left side with Fox and they looked good. Also it seems ADA has matured into a leader type with his talking with media and coming to the defense of his teammates(Lindgren last night etc).

there is zero chance tony is moved. zero. that pair of adam and toy can be down right scary good next year.

would love to see what kreider and fast could fetch. a team like colorado may well look at those 2 as final pieces for a legit run.

would anyone entertain kreider, fast and andersson for alex newhook ? good chance CK would repp there. would doesnt love denver ?

let gabriel tutor the dumb right out lias andersson.

Watching tony move over to the left to play with Fox when you need some offense and thrive there it’s obvious he’s a guy that you can use in a lot of spots. 60 pt righty Dmen don’t grow on trees you hold on to them for dear life. You trade someone else almost anyone else before you start looking at trading righty Dmen like that.

The trade ADA option is IF Lundqivst are getting as good as we hope in 2 years time. If we are lucky we have Trouba, 2 youngish 40+ points d-men in Fox and ADA and a up and coming Lundquvist (or Keane) making is possible to trade ADA (or Fox) to fill another hole. His value would be huge, and give us a young surefire top6 forward/top4 LD. I see it more like a trade for when we know what we are missing when this rebuild is coming to an end then something to do in the middle of it when we do not know yet what we need.

I don't have issues with Tony's defense, but for those who do...can it get any worse if he's moved to LD? I can't see there being a huge drop off so why not just play him there when Nils comes up?

Newhook is untouchable for them

Also I find it very unlikely Fast is traded

I think they trade Fast. He could be a deceptively valuable piece to a contender. If they can get a 2nd for him, I pull the trigger.
