I'm sure it would have been the highlight of your night.

I'm not the one still bringing up a discussion from 4 weeks ago. You tried to sneak it in a comment you made a couple days ago. You're the one still trying to validate a point you were trying to make FOUR weeks ago. It clearly would've been the highlight of your night.

I'm Chris Stewart IRL and I feel very offended by the way this thread has been going, I'd love to play in New York

Honestly, I wouldn't mind chris stewart at all as a third line wing. He has size, he battles, he can score, he can fight.

But I wouldn't give up much to get him.

rangers don't need to go for some crazy trade and ship off the core guys for an elite player. they need a shake up trade thats all. let the team know "hey you've just been put on notice, time to put the work boots on."

AV has scratched guys and what teams want Pyatt and Pouliot? IF they make a trade it will involve, DZ, Girardi, and/or Callahan.

lets face it. av doesn't get to make those decisions. he's said he doesn't have the people he needs. nothings happened yet. i bet glen sather just said deal with what you got; torts did for years...

According to the trades board, Rangers brass has been scouting the Syracuse Crunch, Tampa's AHL affiliate, quite often. A lot of possibilities there...

Very much. Crombeen, Gudas, Brewer, Sustr all affordable players I'd be interested in, maybe Filppula too if the money makes sense.

Yea Connolly is the obvious target there, but I'd expect him to be part of a bigger deal.. we need more, and they'd want more than our scrubs for him.

The Lightning haven't been scouting the Rangers. Pat Verbeek hasn't been at any Ranger games. He is an AGM for them. In previous years,Verbeek would scout the Rangers games at MSG. Not much this season.

Connolly has fallen down the TB depth chart. Other players in the system like Panik and the Russian kid Kucherov have surpassed him. Be careful of Connolly.

Connolly would be a good buy low candidate, but I'd much rather go for a couple of the kids from Anaheim and Dallas. Both teams have been linked to the Rangers in trade talks. Anaheim is loaded on defense, but they lack that shutdown guy to put them over the top. Dallas could use defense, they're loaded with young forward prospects.

Anaheim can give us a D back if the Rangers want one back for Del Zotto or Girardi. Bryan Allen would be the most realistic. I'd want Vatanen, but I doubt the Ducks let him go with the way he's playing. Allen is not a big point producer, but can skate and shut down other team's good forwards. 3.5 million for two more seasons, then UFA. Kerdiles is a guy I would target from the Ducks. Wisconsin guy. Noesen, Etem, and Rakell would all fill needs as well. I want John Gibson, but that's a pipe dream (pun intended).

Dallas is loaded with offense as well. Brett Ritchie and Radek Faksa would be the guys I target, assuming Chiasson is off the table.

I would still prefer another center.

Assuming Richards is bought out.

I like stewart, but he's not all that valuable, IMO. He's a poor Dubinsky

Yeah Stewart is not valuable at all...he is only 6'2 230, 26 years old, has scored 28 goals 3 separate times in his career, is averaging .50 points per game, can fight almost anyone in the league...I wouldn't offer more than a 5th round pick for him. Now, if Brian Gionata is available, I would offer Krieder for him.

Chris Stewart continues to be romanticized on this board despite being an incredibly inconsistent player with a questionable compete level. But he fights!!11

He's a third line winger. Who is as inconsistent as Dubinsky, if not worse. His compete level is not impressive most nights. He isn't a particularly good fighter either.

As for the 28 goal thing. What? He's scored more than 20 goals twice. One of them during the season he got traded.

Like I said a couple times. I wouldn't mind him on the team, but I wouldn't give up much for him either.

again I am fine with these players next yr. Sick of turnover , they need to fine tune

Kreider, Stepan, Nash
Hagelin, Brassard, Callahan
Zuccarello, Miller, Dorsett
X,X,X..............maybe Fast, Kristo , Lindberg , Hrvik can crack the lineup

just let Boyle, Moore, Pouliott, Pyatt, Asham, Powe walk as UFA or trade them. Its pretty simple. Richards has to get bought out with the cap hit

Sign Steve Ott for grit and leadership. Yea offense is still crap so if they can fit in a scorer like Vanek they kind of have to do it

2008-2009 Avalanche 53 11 8 19 -18 54
2009-2010 Avalanche 77 28 36 64 4 221
2010-2011 Avalanche 36 13 17 30 -10 95
2010-2011 Blues 26 15 8 23 4 67
2011-2012 Blues 79 15 15 30 1 166 2012-2013 Blues 48 18 18 36 0 97
2013-2014 Blues 32 9 7 16 6 60

last year he had 18 goals in 48 games, I am not a betting man but I would think he would have scored at least 2 more games over the remaining schedule if it was a full season.

He has 9 goals already this season.

If it took Hagelin to get him...I would do that without blinking.

He beat up Zack Kassian, Cory Sarich and Sheldon Brookbank this year.

He has beaten Brandon Bolig, Antoine Roussel, Jordan Nolan, Kyle Clifford,Troy Bodie, Robyn Reagher and Bj Crombeen over the years.

He again adds an element that we sorely lack on this team.

I'd trade Hagelin for Stewart too. The Blues wouldnt.

The end.

The targets of these trade proposals are always humorous, coming from the better teams in the league.

These very good teams, high atop the standings, are not going to rip their roster apart to acquire another player. Who do you think they are, the New York Rangers?
