I saw someone suggest Josi, 10th and Evangelista, but I looking at box scores stats, that maybe a lot?
The Preds have so many RH forwards. I wonder what it would take to get Evangelista out of there. They could actually use some left wingers to balance their forward lines. They have room for Maccelli and Robertson.I saw someone suggest Josi, 10th and Evangelista, but I looking at box scores stats, that maybe a lot?
Bingo. Either we get a similarly aged player back now that fills a bigger need than Knies does or teams can go away.
Harley, Bourque + 2027 1st
Needs to be a top D with 1D upside.. won't get it. Just keep him.
Shhh let me dreamWhile this would be amazing, just Harley and Knies 1 for 1 would already be good lol
2 1sts for Hagel was widely seen as a king’s ransom at the time.It was a lot but it wasn't a King's ransom. Couple of bottom 6 wingers and a couple of late-1sts. For a guy with a career high 37 points. Knies is MUCH more established now than Hagel was then.

Hagel became far better than most people probably thought possible. The trade looks bad because Hagel was able to turn himself into a superstar, not because Davidson didn’t get enough in return.
You are correct about Knies - he is already a star and will return more.
I love Knies, kids a unicorn but thats a lot to give up and im not even sold on NemecIMO, Nemec fits what Chayka would be looking at. Highly gifted 22 year old RHD in addition to drafting McKenna. This I could see.
Future right side:
Raddysh, Nemec, Danford
I don’t disagree but I will disagree with you on what is considered a quarter if Knies is a loonie. The best way I can explain my don't trade Matthew Knies logic is, in a league where the best teams find spare change all over the sidewalk, under couch cushions, it doesn't get you very far to trade a loonie for 3, 4 or even 5 quarters.
You make your depth up through shrewd management, buy low, Moneyball and draft and development. You don't get very far peddling youth and quality for whatever it is people are willing to part with.
Nah man. We need changes too to bottom.

If it’s Rinzel+4OA what would you consider that? For me that a loonie+50 cents - add tax on that because you’re likely getting 2 players at a premium position. You can make a reasonable guess the other team isn't going to be giving four loonies. Teams sense that Toronto is in disarray and want to take advantage.

Disagree, he's not that bad.
There's some work to be done on his defending, but with Hughes and Hamilton there, there isn't a lot of chance to shine in an offensive sense, which is primarily what he should be played as.
Is that a deal for Knies, clearly not for you, but skilled 21 year RHDs aren't the most common commodity in the league, so NJ has the right to ask for value back.
