Chicago, Indy, and Seattle draft before us and they need C.

Chicago isn't getting any value if they take a C with 1 or 9 unless they trade back.

Indy needs a WR also, but I think at 15 JPJ will be their best bet.

Seattle will definitely take JPJ if he's there, and I could honestly see them going for Frazier too.

Looking at this draft board, there is zip zero chance that JPJ, Frazier, and Barton are all there in the 2nd round.

Looking at the options left...

- Something can be done at Safety
- If they want a veteran CB who hopefully has more juice left than PP, that can be done
- Lines are pretty much tapped out although there's still a few names
- If a team does bite on Johnson in trade, there's a couple of WR options left in Reynolds/Ridley but not much after that

Dline help too
I like T'Vondre Sweat in the 4th round.

This WR class is so diverse - if we were ever going to flip Johnson and try to work a rookie in immediately, this is the class to do it.

Moore would be ok at RT. Ideally sure but a C and CB ARE MUSTS.

Tomlin's reaction to the idea of playing Moore there last year was roughly "yeah, he's just not good enough there". Seems likely that doesn't change.

Which is I'd probably prioritize Center at 20 or even move up for JPJ.. You can still get a good corner in rd 2.

Maybe, but we have no one at Center. They got some holes to fill, but Center and CB should be 1 and 2. Maybe they can pick up a UFA to fill S or OL.

No huge argument there, just I expect one of Jones or maybe Spence Anderson to be RT if they don't get a guy.

I do think they can sign a CB to fill a hole though.

I think that is probably the most likely play. Go get JPJ and be done with it. If we get a C, I think we can figure out the T. The C's are picked over in free agency at this point.

I like Frazier just a tad more, and I think in a normal year he'd provide more value, but I think there is very real potential for JPJ, Barton, and Frazier to all go in the top 32.

Agree with both yall! So far so good.

Just really looking at free agency -

Baltimore landed Henry. That should be a really interesting offense.

Wilkins signing in Vegas makes their defense outrageously good.

It is absolutely mind blowing to me Kevin Dotson gets a multi-year deal for $16m a year. For me, that f*** up is inexcusable.

I'll stop picking at this one soon enough, mainly because we've no way of really know what's true or not until camp. But I find the nugget that Wilson wanted a second year but decided to do it without one really interesting. Ditto the fact that Vegas isn't mentioned making an offer, and the Giants offer is couched around "Daniel Jones is still our QB1 when fit". It feels like Wilson's market was really weak - but he decided he was okay with that and took what was on the table. I honestly expected him to just sit at home and wait for the injuries to roll in if that happened.

Which is a long winded way of getting to I wonder if the Steelers really are planning on an open battle. I still don't think so but they keep surprising me.

I am happy they said no to a second year though.

I think Saquon leads the league in rushing next season by a fair margin. Probably the best signing of the offseason, in my opinion.

I would have preferred to give Wilson 2 years rather than 1 year, to be honest. I don’t think they should be making any dramatic choices regarding the QB room until after Pickett’s rookie deal is up, and giving Wilson and Pickett 2 years to see if they can make a good QB tandem makes more than than 1 year.

It’s the same reason I wanted to trade for Fields and immediately give him a 1 year Love type of contract. You get 2 years to see if either can be the guy, and if they’re not, then you nuke your QB room.

I work with several eagles fans and they actually weren’t real happy with signing him. Complained about his injuries.

Of course Philly fans are inherently negative about pretty much everything.

It seems obvious Wilson didn’t have much of a market for a reason.

If Wilson wins the job (which I can’t see not happening) and has a good year, I’ll enjoy it and hope they finally win a damn playoff game.

Maybe it will work out and he finds some old man magic or something.

Not going to lie and say I’m excited about the signing when two teams gave up on him and Denver paid through the teeth to be rid of him.

I could talk myself into ignoring that if I didn’t see the interview where Mark Schlereth called his play garbage though.

So many fans claim the Steelers offense just needs a decent game manager and Tomlin’s D will carry them to glory.

So Wilson should at least be able to provide that - but I haven’t watched him play much in the last 3-4 years, so I have no idea what I’m even talking about really.

He hurt Tiki’s feelings though.

How likely is it that, in the hypothetical where Pickett or Fields play 2025 as Steelers after being here for 2024 (obviously v. hypothetical in Fields' case), you're thinking "goodness, I'm glad I did that and gave them all that patience"?

Because it seems quite unlikely to me.

Saquon had a decent line at State College, if I remember correctly, but it wasn't great. The line in NY saw him get killed. I think the injuries are a result of having the worst line in football. We will see though. If he can be the guy we all thought he could be behind this line...it could be a good year for Philly.

I mean I wouldn't want to give someone who gets banged up that often all that money either. Particularly given his age vs the location of the RB drop off.

Big reward vs the risk though.

I certainly wouldn’t be mad with JPJ in the first but it would be kind of shame to not take advantage of this ridiculous tackle class. They’re probably going to have the chance at a borderline top ten talent at tackle that they wouldn’t be able to get without trading up most years.

Haven’t really looked at the centers left in FA but hopefully they can wrangle up a guy that could be a starter in a pinch so they’re not forced into anything.
