I kinda want to see what Pickett can do with an actual coordinator and not playing so conservatively. Didn’t catch too many Pitt games is that just his M.O? Play it safe and try not to make mistakes or turn the ball over?

His MO was being mid as f**"k but showing flashes of mid-round NFL potential until he was a super duper senior at 23 throwing to a guy who commanded $3m in NIL money for one season.

I know I criticized your take of "he was carried by Addison" in the past. But after watching his highlights from 2021, a ton of them are just Addison burning the shitty DBs in the ACC and Pickett hitting him while he's wide open.

what would you say Fields best best 3 game stretch ?
I haven't watched enough Bears games to truly say with any confidence, but just looking at box scores probably the first 3 games after he returned from injury this year? Weeks 4-6 if he didn't get hurt?

Maybe Weeks 8-10 in 2022? 3 losses but look at those points allowed.

Probably. Raiders/Rams/Ravens is probably better, but that's a 3 out of 4 with a bad game vs the Texans in the mdidle.
So a stretch where he threw 3 tds 1 interceptions and combined for less than 1100 in total

Addison would not have put up the numbers he did without a good-to-great college QB. That said, I saw many times he got extremely open. He overmatched the ACC.

I mean, yeah. It's not exactly a secret he didn't have great production.

The question is why and what happens when put with a real OC, hopefully one not being pushed to produce a highly conservative offence. Bonus points if the OL doesn't leak pressure and if his passing weapons can stay fit.

I again ask the question - for those who would like to move on from Pickett, what is your definition of success this season?

The offense looks like z nfl offense the o line is rebuilt and the skill players are locked up long term. The defense gets younger in FA add guys like white kinlaw bunting and rupp. Regardless of Qb play they will win 8 games minimum but we will know without a doubt what kp is

You literally didn't answer the question. What does Kenny Pickett have to do this season for you to deem his season successful?

For me, he has to learn to read defenses pre and post snap, particularly zone coverage.

Until he does that, he's bound for NFL backup jobs

It’s hard to say unless he puts together a very good season and pulls off a playoff win.

If not some of the most likely scenarios that would muddle the waters for me:

- If he has an up and down season but wins a playoff game, should he be the long term starter just because winning a playoff game in Pgh is now like seeing a unicorn?

- If he has a good year statistically and mostly puts together games like he did against Cincy (11/26), but loses in the playoffs… not sure how I’d feel.

Mostly Groundhogs Day stuff despite a nice season, but I’d have questions if he can get it done when it matters.

- He completely shits the bed, MR ends the season as the starter makes decision easy to move on.

- Has an up and down year, no playoffs, makes decision easy.

In the first five games of last season, Fields had 11 TD passes, Kenny has 13 in his entire career.

Fields is responsible for 54 TDs in 40 career games. Kenny has 17 in 25 games.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA & that is why Bears are trading him

Minimum 25 tds passes he shows he can read a defense handle the offense and command the huddle. He shows he understands nfl open learning to throw with anticipation and becomes more precise with his decision making. He stopped bailing to his left and running into sacks

They are trading him in part to save their jobs a new rookie qb resets the time clock instead of picking up the 5th year option which had to be done right away after the draft. They can take nappers lsu at 9 Williams at 1 and then spend in fa there in a winnable division

Bears had a top five D after the Sweat trade, the best rushing D in the league, Moore had the best season of his career, Kmet had his best season and was a top ten tight end, and Bears had a top rushing attack led by Fields.

Yet Fields still went 5-8. It’s not because there is a dearth of talent on O or the D was shitty.

There’s a reason he keeps losing games, but for whatever reasons some people don’t want to hear it.

For KP? 230 yards/game in the air, 1.5TDs/game, less than .8INTs/game and we score 22 points per game.

the biggest thing that mr did wasn't a stat thing, he got the team to rally around him. no small feat. have any of the other qb's done that?
