uh cause Calvin Pickard got picked off of us and he stunk and Petru is doing well in the AHL and lots of teams could use a backup and of course...the Leafs;)
And if ANY team in the league wanted him they could sign him right now. There is nothing stopping them from doing it.
But you think if the Leafs do sign him a bunch of those teams are going to change their minds and suddenly want him.

Unless teams have called and were told no.....

Foligno back injury
Nash Knee
Murry
Mrazek

These players have had a history of injuries
That's not on our training staff, that's on super GM and pro scouts who only looks at data sheets, not games
That Foligno trade was both bad and stupid, a total gamble. He got taken. We didn't need Murray either.

Our Patrick Roy no doubt 🙏

I’d start him tomorrow

He played for the Marlies tonight.

Highly doubt they want him making his debut playing on back to back nights.

Kallgren only played 20 mins versus Petruzzelli's 60 mins.

I would prefer him over Kallgren. Kallgren got lit up in his one game in the AHL, Petruzzelli's been dominant in the AHL.

Before everybody starts panic panicking all you have to look at is at the Vegas Golden kinghts. They are using 2 goalies with virtually no name recognition and they are in first place in their division. All the leafs have to do is play a solid disciplined game plan and give whoever is in net a chance to win.

What? Since Petruzelli is currently on an AHL contract any team, literally any team, could sign him to an NHL contract. Since no team has, why do you think they would claim him on waivers?

This isn't true. Since he had an AHL deal with Toronto, he's under contract to the Leafs. No other team could sign him until it ends. Luckily, he's waiver exempt so we can send him or Kallgren down.

Prohibitive underdog, 23 year old they know his psyche better than everyone but why not? Belleville to Raleigh shouldnt be a burden

We never play any goalie on a back to back both games unless we have to.

Petruzzelli played 60 minutes Saturday, Kallgren played 20 mins.

I think if he's rested, maybe they go with him. Consequently, we don't want to risk 4 injured goalies. We don't even have the contract space to sign another one right now.

Washington sure did Dubas a huge favor by claiming NAK and opening up a contract spot otherwise we'd be down to one NHL goalie. Considering there is Dubas and four assistants that should be managing rosters, you would have thought they wouldn't have to rely on that kind of luck.

You are heavily overestimating how hard it is to unload a contract
