Todays prediction.

Islanders unloaded to save cap space - none.

Trades-none.

Free agent signing- a guy we never heard of.

I think it would be a different story if the Islanders were fresh off two final four appearances. Last season really sucked.

Elliotte Friedman says he would be surprised if it's the Islanders for Gaudreau. Keep an eye on JVR moving, for clues.

Assuming the Flyers stick to that philosophy, it’s hard to see a path for Gaudreau — barring another major move. If they’re in, they’re slow-playing this hand. They’re also believed to have interest in Dylan Strome.

New Jersey was the name on many lips Tuesday night. I’d be surprised if it was the Islanders. Let’s see what Wednesday brings.

Yup. It's gonna be quiet for us. No real cap space to work with. Expecting a bottom pairing Dman and nondescript winger will be it.

Final prediction today - we finally get off the schneid and sign JG and Gabriel Carlsson

Bailey is traded for picks

And there will be one move none of us saw coming, and predicting it is futile . . .

My surely not so accurate crystal ball sees the following happening over the next 7-21 days, in no particular order:
- Bailey and Bellows are moved for Tarasenko
- Wahlstrom is dealt to NJD for RFA Jesper Bratt
- Leddy is signed to a very affordable 2-year contract
- Islanders sign free agent forward Nicolas Aubé-Kubel to a 1-year contract
- Islanders give Kyle MacLean an ELC
- Organization adds UFA Dman Nick DeSimone
- Organization adds UFA forward Vinny Lettieri
- Organization adds UFA forward Andrew Poturalski
- Organization retains UFA forward Austin Czarnik

Expect Hickey, Dal Colle, and Vande Sompel to exit the orgnization.

And just for verification, because the deadline for the offers was yesterday at 5 pm:

Gaurdeau to PHI if van Riemsdyk is traded. Let NYR sign Kadri, I’d rather trade for Miller…

I think even if we do nothing, this team is better than last years already.

The offense literally can't get any worse, plus we have a better D and our goalie tandem intact.
We really only need that scoring winger and depth Dman, so we def will only get the depth Dman lol.

You’re more likely to see Tarasenko traded (since he wants to be) to open up space for Perron to return to STL.
I hope so. Tarasenko fits NYI much better than Perron. It's not only his goal scoring, but his ability to play low in the offensive zone fits the role he could play on Barzal's line. Also, that big left shot fits NYI's PP need much better than a right shot. I don't see the expiring contract as a bad thing, because I am also hedging on NYI. If things don't work out for the team, he's a deadline asset as NYI make a decision about how to move forward. It all depends on cost. If the cost is Wahlstrom + Beauvillier, great. If the demand involves Raty or 2023 first rounder, forget it.

Would be nice to add another Russian as well and Tarasenko’s term is more favorable.
