Post-Game Talk: Heart breaking loss against the Bolts.

Effort was there at least today.

Team still isn't good enough, we all knew that. Hopefully our two 5th overall picks turn out to be cornerstone players, we desperately need them to become that.

All aboard the train to tankville.

Solid effort in the 3rd period though, some of the best hockey we've seen our team play over the past 10 games.

We just need too many upgrades and our younger players need to continue to grow. So many plays that could be something that just end on players sticks. Can't have that happen nearly as often as it is happening.

When I was watching the Colorado game the other day I was paying close attention to Mittelstadt, a player the avs fans aren't very happy with. Plays falling apart on his stick, not sharp. We have so many players playing the game like him right now.

You mean Suzuki and Caufield.

Our two biggest offensive weapons have 0 combined 5v5 goals over the last 22 periods.
I've been saying this for a while, the guy KH/JG needs to get rid of is Cole Caufield. The Habs won't be able to win anything in the playoffs with this midget in his top 6. When he doesn't produce, he brings absolutely nothing to the table. Such a unidimensional player, no wonder Suzuki has to constantly overwork his asshh off to help Caufield 5 on 5.

The only place where Caufield is somehow useful is on the PP, but he is too expensive to be just a PP specialist. At this point, he is nothing more than a Mike Hoffman/Alex Debrincat clone and you don't win with these kind of players in the long run.

Trade his asshhh while he still have some values. We need size and grit on the top 6, I'm tired of those midgets getting bullied and being defensive liablities... it's not a winning culture and never was.

Mike Hoffman/Alex Debrincat is like saying Jake Evans/Ryan O'Reilly lmfao

I'd be fine if he was a 2nd liner, but he's definitely not an untouchable for me.

If we were to manage to land Rantanen during free agency then I wouldn't hesitate moving Caufield+Dach+futures to bring back a high end center.

The worst is when Caufield just give up on puck battle before even trying because he knows he is at a disadvantage due to his size. He just takes off his foot of the gaz and let the opponent recover the puck.

Yeah. He's obviously been playing banged up. But stays in anyway like Gallagher does when he's banged up. He has less zip in his step and his general mobility has been affected.
Has this been confirmed?

I doubt it...

This is who Nick is and why he is not captain material or even a first line center.

He has these kind of stretches every single year and with no matter who he plays with

We certainly played well in the last period, but you cannot afford the kinds of major defensive lapses that led to the first two goals and unsettling of Dobes confidence. Nonetheless, this was for the best because we're in a tight race to the bottom, and a number of teams have games in hand.

Based on this game, it looks like Suzuki & Caufield were dragging Slafkovsky down.

Slafkovsky-Dvorak-Gallagher had a great game & Dvo was a f***ing beast in the face-off circle.

Great game by Anderson, too even if he does have stone hands, he was working his ass off.

The defense, ugh. It had it's comical moments pretty much all of TB's goals were self-inflicted defensive atrocities. They did get better as the game went on.

Dobes back to AHL. I would recall Primeau and hope to hell he found some confidence down there.

Boys worked hard, but they undo all that hard work with stupid errors. Overall, it was a good effort.

We need a lot more from Caufield, Suzuki & Dach.

No more games for 2 weeks!
I disagree both lines had an immediate jump in energy after the change. I mentioned it a number of games ago I wish we had a player who could push Slafkovsky harder he needs to be a driver not a complimentary winger. He defers far too often to the other two instead of trying to be the man. Heineman or Dach can go full time with Suzuki and let Slaf become his own boss for a while.

He's playing an exploitation role, I imagine (Note that I haven't actually looked at the analytics, and it is thus an assumption), allowed to feast on lesser competition - that and it has only been a single game. I do not believe that we can make any conclusion as of yet.

It's not been confirmed in the same way that it wasn't confirmed despite being obvious that Gallagher had a gear less and was firing muffings these past seasons. Suzuki's not the same player. Non-Montreal color commentators wonder out loud what's wrong with him.

The guy i would try to trade for Caufield is Dobson. I would love to get him
