Pacioretty is from New Canaan so what Brooks is speculating isn’t really farfetched. Also Pacioretty is washed, NYR is trying to draw blood from a stone, worked for a bit with Wheeler.
 
DET traded Kostin (an NHL player) for an AHL player, thereby opening a slot on their NHL roster. Maybe just coincidence, or maybe they're making another deal. Wahlstrom is in the NHL and Berggren is in the AHL, just saying. :sarcasm:

Assess? Assess what, this isn't a young team, any window they might have is another 3 years at best, can't waste them, either rebuild which isn't going to happen, or keep on trying to upgrade the roster in the next 3 years to increase the really small chance at winning a cup
 
I’m fine with standing pat here

Not close enough to warrant going all in, not far enough out to sell what few sellable pieces we have

If we add some small depth piece for cheap at the deadline, I’m good with that

as we approach the final hour, Nothing will happen. Many will be upset and we will be left with "wait till July1st" nonsense where Lou will also do nothing. Its been a rinse and repeat method for this team since the days of Mike Milbury.

If this team doesn't make the playoffs than its all on Lou and I hope the owners see that and put him to Pasteur.

I said this earlier in the year and ill say it again. We finish in 9th or 10th. We dont get to squeak in like last year.

Same Islanders team. Different Coach.

Prices are so cheap right now. Hard to believe we aren’t going to grab some depth. Maybe Lou doesn’t want to upset the mojo right now. Losing mayfield was almost addition by subtraction.

Lou has made trades, significant ones, at or near every deadline. Not sure what you're talking about. The criticism has been that Lou overrates this team and has sacrificed the future and/or rebuilding years by believing in, and adding to, this core. I don't get this rant.

If the season has shown anything its the health of our D has been tested. Def should be picking up a depth D vet. Not sure Id want Aho or Bolduc to try and go deep if someone goes down

Lamoriello has constantly made moves at the deadline since coming here so it's not even close to a rinse and repeat situation.

Yeah I was thinking the same but if Bortuzzo is healthy he is good depth.

Would like to see them grab someone who could spell Clutterbuck or Martin if Fashing isn’t healthy

Agree, injuries will happen playing balls to the wall the next 20 games. Should be a fun sprint to the end, good or bad, I guess.

This. And C. Plan B is prob Nelson back to Center if someone goes down. But that line has been so successful seems crazy they would avoid breaking that line up at all costs.
 
Can someone explain what the Flyers are doin?

In light of getting Erik Johnson and Denis Gurianov what was the point of trading Sean Walker? Did they no longer consider him a core piece or was re-signing him going to be difficult?
