Stan says no goalie trade, I feel like he's here to make sure Mcdavid and Drai don't get a cup. Hated the hire then, hate it now.
Hell be one of the shortest hires if they lose directly cause of goaltending. I don't think he survived and Jackson definitely shouldn't after all the wrong calls he made free agency.

Edmonton Journal, I hope they're wrong
David Staples? His source on the article is Frank's BS from Friday lol

Do you know when this was said? Friday.

Why did Bowman say the opposite yesterday?

Man half of this shit on this board and twitter is being said because of what Bowman said on Friday. Yet his minds altered after the weekend lmao

The question is then if the Oilers won game seven last year, would that change your mind on Skinner if things were still the same currently this season?

Skinner wasn’t perfect in game seven, but was decent and gave them a good chance to win. He also had good stats in games 5, 6, and 7 of every series so he can do well under pressure. Everyone knocks on Skinner for the Canucks series, yet they over look Bob's games 4, 5, and 6 in the final.

The game 7 defence of Skinner has a fatal flaw though. His play earlier on in the series was partly why they had to play 7 games. His play vs Vancouver was also why that series extended. Yet he was lights out vs Dallas.

And therein lies the problem, his consistency is sorely lacking. You either get Good Skinner or his evil twin Bad Skinner, often in the same game.

That said, I don’t think that there is much to choose between the 3 goalies being discussed. I just take Binnington on the winning pedigree.

Nah, Peak Oilers would be Kane coming back before the deadline and the Oiler trading Kulak, Arvidsson, a 1st and Akey for Risto and Scott Laughton($1M Retained) at the deadline, then getting Josh Mahura from SEA to be 3LD.

The Oilers becoming a team of McDavid + Draisaitl + 10 other "bottom 6" players sounds about right for how things go around here.

The media is in love with Skinner cause he’s local. That’s it.
At some point doesn't one have to pivot away from outside speculators to the actual team decision makers and an organization that's proudly declared its aspirations to become a best in class one based on information based decision making processes including a bulked analytics support function?

The Summer of Jeff is taking on water with basically all of their decision making, spending choices and terrible asset management. Now the cap accrual contingency plan appears to be in some jeopardy.

Point the arrows to the people actually making personnel decisions versus outside voices who just talk about this team and its personnel decisions and choices.

Spector in his article with Bownman yesterday didn’t rule out goalie conversations where there is smoke there is fire

They are literally playing it perfectly. Kane will be out until playoffs.

What do you want? Them to tell us this in September? They know Kane is out until playoffs and that's all that matters.
Because the reporting coming out is that this isn't actually how they're "playing it". Oilers management truly does not have a clue what their cap situation is going to be and what the status of Kane is and that they are actually waiting for him to tell them in a week's time.

I feel like Kane is coming back before the end of the reg season and hasn't been interested in keeping the team informed.

Well that confirms it, no tender guys. Spec says they're looking, so of course he's wrong. Thanks for confirming Skinner ride or die Tambo.

if Kane comes back during the regular season, it'll be dollar in-dollar out for players

Binningtons final went seven games as well and he had a couple poor games in that series and the run as a whole had some bad games. Yes he won game seven, and the 4N tourney but that had everyone questioning his start in the final and now he’s a legend? Out side of the overtime’s people on here were constantly calling him Skinner.

Yeah, turns out it's better for your reputation if you deliver in crunch time rather than fall flat.

Not that I think Binnington is a world beater or anything.
