Dreger works for TSN, they love MTL hockey.
Carcillo getting suspended for that many games will be a joke.

Prust has to be suspended.

On a related note, Richards was poor tonight...Too many missed passes and he was slow

Sure they do. They know how their bread is buttered.
I think CBC is even more overt in that way, though.

The way things are run I'm not expecting any suspension for Prust, and Carcillo will be banished to North Korea or Hoboken, NJ

Regarding the Carcillo/Prust possible suspension. It's a thing that happened in a game. Pretty much meets all the criteria for it not to go our way.

Through 3 games Montreal still hasn't proven that they can score goals in this series.

They scored 2 goals in this series that weren't complete luck. 1 of those 2 goals was when we were up 7-1. That said, we've scored 3 non-fluke goals against Tokarski ourselves. We can't score on the guy at all. I don't trust this team to score. They have almost no finishers. What's frustrating is knowing how likely it is that we outplay Montreal and still lose because every great chance we get we shoot it at him or miss wide. I have no doubt that we'll be the better team this series, I just don't trust the Rangers to actually score at all.

I wish we didn't tie it. Those moments, that felt so amazing when they happened, lose their luster when we lose. We were all going nuts when Kreider tied it, and then to lose...I'd have rather gotten home 20 minutes earlier.

If we were to lose on a good play I'd disagree. Losing on Briere's goal with 3 minutes to go would have been hell. However, we lost on another fluke goal anyway, so maybe you're right.

Could someone tell me what Carcillo did to get thrown out of the game? I was at my daughter's high school concert tonight and missed it- came in just as they were showing something on the TV and mentioned he might get suspended.

I feel for you all tonight- as a Bruins fan first (and Rangers fan second since the 80's), the game winning goal was typical of what happened to us in the second round. We could hit the post like no tomorrow, but get it in the net? Right. Meanwhile, the Habs would score a garbage goal without any effort.

I was so hoping the Rangers would sweep them and put them away for another year. The diving, embellishment, slashing (in one shift, Subban slashed three Rangers- even the announcers called him out on it- no call, of course!), and holding the stick is just unreal. That they get away with it all for all three series so far is just sickening.

Dominate. Make random goalie look like God. Lose.

This. The series is looking like the Boston-Mtl one, except you guys playing like Mtl. I didn't expect the Rangers to be so amazing at forechecking, they're dominating in possession (can't say about game 2 since I missed that one).

I can't believe so many Rangers fans are blaming their team, they still played great. Way more opportunistic than the Bruins.

Basically, he wanted at a Habs player and the official grabbed him and tried to push him away. He did not strike the official but he kept resisting as they danced back to centre ice. To me it was no big deal, although Carcillo definitely put up a spirited resistance. The initial call on him was questionable.

Game 2 Montreal outplayed us, though terms like "utterly dominated for the entire game" were thrown out by Habs fans on the main board. That wasn't the case. Montreal really took it to us the first 15 minutes and the last 5. This game, I wouldn't say we dominated. However, they had lots of chances that they just blew. And that's not because of bad luck or whatever, we've seen this story unfold all season. Although, bad luck were the goals against (2 of them, though the first one should have been a save). The lack of goals for unfortunately is a flaw in this team, not luck or whatever. That's been the Rangers all season. That's why I was shocked at game 1. The Rangers are terrible at finishing their chances. Most of those chances went wide or were flubbed.

Worst part is that I'll have to be terrified of the Rangers going all Rangers and blowing a chance to go to the finals, for almost 3 full days. Honestly, my confidence in this team has shaken so much. Why? Because I've seen this picture unfold before. Just a horrendous, horrendous job of finishing.

Thanks. I saw the replay and couldn't figure out what the big fuss was about- sure, he was resistant to the linesman, but that happens every game across the NHL? Is this just merely a reputation call, like they did with two penalties against Marchand that shouldn't have been called (one of them should have been called against Markov for slashing Marchand in the neck!!!!)?

The way they were talking during the replay, I was looking for Carcillo decapitating or beating the linesman up. I seriously thought there was more to it and just missed the rest of the replay. This is a head scratcher for sure.....

I hope it does not become a ruling based on 'the letter of the law' because it looks like they could throw the book at him.
Hopefully, calmer heads prevail and any punishment is minimal. Like you say, maybe they think 'Carcillo' and get all bothered. They do like to make examples, Exhibit A - Sean Avery with 6 games and anger management. Todd Bertuzzi and some others probably never saw an anger management class in their entire life.

Even John Buccigross thinks the linesman was being excessive in the Carcillo incident:

I know you can't touch the linemen and refs, but linesman's role in that Carcillo thing was a bit excessive. Carcillo wasn't a threat.

If he gets 10-20 games for something that a lot of guys across the NHL do on a nightly basis, then this league has officially gone to hell in a hand basket. Of all the things for him to get suspended heavily for- this is just insane. Meanwhile, we have necks practically being snapped in two, heads being smashed into boards, heads practically being decapitated, knee on knee plays, and this silly little incident draws a game misconduct and possible suspension? I'm speechless, but not for the first time these last few years........

This is what I don't understand. This stuff happens constantly, I've never even seen it penalized. And a few minutes earlier Prust goes for Stepan and gets nothing? It just really takes away a bit of integrity from the game.

Spray someone with water? $5,000 FINE. Slew foot? Nah it's cool. Spear to the groin? Nah it's cool. Carry on.

I am old. I have seen this more times than I care to admit. Didn't put them away when you had them. You get burned.

I kept thinking this the whole game. Once it was 1-1, it just felt like the type of game in which the Rangers would get plenty of opportunities and ultimately blow the game anyway. :(

Dude, you are so typical of the Negative Nancy's here in the crowd that I keep referring to. "Terrified"? Really. "Blowing a chance to go to the finals" Really? "Your confidence in the team has been shaken so much"? Really?

And all this because we lost one *** game? I mean seriously dude get a ****en grip. I'll repeat once again what I've said a few times already: Did you or any of the other Nancy's in here actually think we were not going to lose another game the rest of the way? Seriously did you think that? Did you or the other Nancy's in here think we were going to win the first two games AT the Bell Centre? Yeah me neither but it happened.

Whether or not we finished on some glorious scoring opportunities such as what occurred tonight, did you or the other Nancy's in here think that were not going to have a game or two where we didn't have some puck luck going against us? And one more for you and the rest of the Negative Nancy's, did you honestly think that we were going to go rest of the playoff run we are on withought Hank being in god mode?

If you actually answer any of the questions I just posed honestly, you will see how utterly ridiculous you and the rest of the Nancy's sound and are coming across. I mean it's ****en absurd. We lost ONE FREAKING GAME...that's it. The team has been playing spectacular hockey for past two weeks or ever since Game 5 of Pitt series. One loss which easily could have been a W does not nor ever take away from that.

Bit of advice for you and the rest of the Nancy's. Take a couple of chill pills, realize that this Ranger team that is on the ice now is different than any Ranger team we've seen in past 15-20 years and we are capable of winning the Cup. One loss does not take away from that. Enough of this BS negative crap. Frankly, besides being ridiculous, it's laughable and embarrassing as a Ranger fan to read other Ranger fans talking like this as you come across as a fan that either hasn't watched the turnaround this team has made or you simply have an agenda which is to spread BS negativity when there is nothing to be had...un friggen believable!!!
