Lets just agree that this Nato thing will never work. As soon as Sweden or Finland gets nukes on their soil they wont fly to Russia. They'll end up as a mushroom cloud in Helsinki or Stockholm.

Dahlin was more than fine defensively. Hedman however seemed unfocused.
He's getting old.

He had some really good moments though at times really pressuring and dominating Finland hard slapshots etc.

Dahlin is the future though. He's got some mad skills and presence on the ice.

Congratulations to Sweden. I couldn't watch the game so I can't say if the penalty against Helenius was justified or not. But you can't in any case blame the referees for the loss. You don't have to wonder about losing games if you play almost the whole game so defensively and begin only the last minutes playing more offensively.

Against whom will Sweden play now the semifinal?
You're still talking about the shots? Look at the rosters. Do you think Finland Liiga team would have had better result than a coin-flip OT game against NHL superstars with offensive game plan? Can't coach this game any better as an absolute underdog than how Jalonen did today

So you don't think it was a soft call? Even the Swedish experts in the studio thinks that.
Can't do anything about it. If Finland played better it would still have been a W. Getting caught up in something line that is just annoying. Like implying Swedish experts know things.

I love to mine all this salty tears from the finns in here who says they dont care:laugh:

This is the least interested I've ever seen the Finnish public be in the international hockey team. Zero talent whatsoever in that team, the only half-decent player had fouled himself out in the previous game, we were only in the qualifiers because Austria somehow managed to lose to Great Britain.

I was fully expecting Finland to get trashed 5-1 or something. The fact that they hung in there until OT and lost because of a soft call is very surprising.

Really impressed with the finnish team - that's what I mostly take with me from this match. What an effort - Sisu etc.

And Jalonen is a genious, why haven't NHL stolen him - I don't get that. What a track record.

Sweden got nervous and should be able to do better but of course they got nervous and it was hard to finish ...

Before the tournament I thought USA and Sweden easily were the strongest teams on paper, but now when Czechs got Necas, Pastrnak etc I think they might be the favourite on home ice.

99% of the populos care but some hockey fanatics like me think its 2nd tier tournament Im much more keen on Hlinka, U18 Champs and World Juniors and there were even U17 challenge and Youth Olympics that interest. 4 Nations next season is big milestone

This seemed like a Jalonen blueprint hoping to keep it close and if they score hope that they go all out turtle (which they did)

Sweden may have got little bit help today from refs but then again we have been on that side in the final and won one gold. That is IIHF reffing, sometimes you're on the better side, sometimes you are on the wrong side.

Thanks for all the polite Swedish posters here, I don't really care about the "salty tears" comments. I know even Swedes know that was one heck of an effort from the Finnish team and Sweden may have been better, but I would say u got to admire the way we played with our Liiga roster.

Almost. Start by going turtle, see what happen and then adjust depending on who scores. I still think no one does it as good as Jalonen, but when even the best players in Europe can't or won't join it becomes really hard. Can't blaim them really when they have already won everything.

Lame call. An NHL stacked star team had to win this one for obvious reasons and the refs took care of that.

No, I am not a sore loser. Just pissed off about the loss reminding of the ”good ol’ times” lol.

Congrats to Tre Kronor - maybe you were this tiny little much better in this particular match - which is not much indeed. Respect and congrats to Lions of Heart - and Euro hockey also. Great battle of will. As you only should expect from a bunch of bona fide LIONS.

And no, I am not applying for Sverige’s citizenship but Norge’s I might. It’s been close a couple of times. Let’s see what the future will bring to us. Wink wink.

Soft call. Just stop it.

We don't appreciate this Finnish team at all. It is a boring team with a pathetic ambition to defend and destroy any trace of entertainment.

Finland looked like a bunch of losers. Not even trying to play hockey. It was embarrassing. Finns are weird for not recognizing how shit and boring this team is.

If your team is shit fine, but play hockey.
