They could start by signing with teams that don't consistently make it far in the playoffs. It's time for the Finnish NHL millionaires to get off their butts.

Very strong game from a Finnish team that almost exclusively consists of players in European leagues vs Swedish NHL superstars + a bit of refereeing luck. Oh and that’s without Granlund. What if there had even been an Aho and TT there??? I really hope that more NHL players will commit to Finland in the future. It's time for the Finnish NHL millionaires to get off their butts.
Yeah, just maybe good players don't want to play hockey like this. Weird huh?Especially when they're not even among the top Liiga players.
Well now we have to wish for Dallas-Florida finals. Both teams full of Finns since can't cheer them on this tournament anymore..They could start by signing with teams that don't consistently make it far in the playoffs.
Yes, it used to be a storied Finnish tradition. They could start by signing with teams that don't consistently make it far in the playoffs.
EHT is just practice. WC is serious. Why does Sweden beat them in EHT then?
WC isnt serious it plays every year maybe if it was like olympics every 4th year but now nehhEHT is just practice. WC is serious.
Finland was just power play practice. We will take the Czech game more seriously.
I thank Finland for sharping up our power play. It will come handy in the remaining games.
I would still make fun of their boring and uninspiring way of playing hockey.WC isnt serious it plays every year maybe if it was like olympics every 4th year but now nehh
... yeah and if the finns would have scored i bet u wouldent make this stupid comment.
Swedish coach did the same. They belive the group becomes stronger i think. I hope the next coach Finland get is more offensive minded, just for entertainment. I dont want countries to adopt the most boring system, no matter how effective. They didn't really even have a chance to come in because Jalonen had made his final choices already.
It just felt to me like Jalonen is so high on his system that he doesn't really care who's playing. A big mistake imo because the skill level this time was just atrociously low.
EHT is just practice. WC is serious.
Because he's busy playing "Signing my next contract".Why didn't Tolvanen play? A cannon on skates
Finland does not have the material to go offensive. We were a silver nation for too long. Time to go for the gold again and again.Swedish coach did the same. But Jalonen did the best with what he had.
You managed to make this entire post read like one long sentence, despite using paragraph division and the full array of punctuation marks.. Impressive.Hedman plays fast and hard. His IQ is literally pass and shoot the puck harder than anyone else. It wouldn't be the same if a small guy like Raymond for instance played like this. You need to be a lot bigger and stronger than everyone else for it to work.
Dahlin is irrational in his game in a whole other way. But the two compliment each other perfectly. One fast, hard and direct and one being creative. Dahlin have a bit of Karlsson and a bit of Hedman in him.
The hardest thing to accept with this Sweden team is its poor forward line. To see a slow player like Raymond play power play with Hedman and Dahlin is well not the most aesthetic. But Raymond managed ok, some players like Grundström is so out of his league it's frustrating to see him waste ice time of players like Erik Karlsson.
If we had maybe just 2-3 better forwards our game would be on a whole other level.
Exactly why I said sometimes you get those calls and sometimes they go to your opponent. With IIHF refs you never know what you are gonna get. Sometimes its your side, sometimes its not. Unfortunately. Was it 2022 when Finland beat Canada on the PP in OT in the Final after a questionable call to Thomas Chabot?
The hockey gods are fickle.
One of the bright spots is Hyry. Seen loads of him in Kärpät and he showed he can be solid here too
Oliver Kapanen however.. Invisible.
Okay, your point being?Meanwhile Finland is like "we did really well considering how shit we are".
I mean our roster is full of Liiga players. We almost beat the Swedish team full of NHL'ers.. I don't get it. It was a weak Finnish team that proved once again that everything is possible.Meanwhile Finland is like "we did really well considering how shit we are".
Whatevs. You want artistic impression, you watch figure skating. We aim to win. And to my mind today's battle against a far superior team was the opposite of boringBecause no one good wants to play for Finland because Finland play boring.
God, are you serious? Or 14?Now that you say it Finland looked a bit like tiny little ballerinas spinning on their toe in their goal area. Occassionally I also saw some swan dives trying to block the puck.
