He wasn’t great, but I feel like Shanahan’s conservative play calling had a lot to do with his struggles early on too.
They should’ve gone to running up the middle out of the gate and that probably would’ve made things easier on both Shanahan and Purdy but now that Purdy has gone through it, he may feel better about this sort of tight ugly playoff game especially when they need to do it on the road to get to the Super Bowl.

Shanahan called an unremarkable game on offense. He kept the plays tight once he saw the defense would keep them in it all day without costly turnovers. Philly has a very good defense, but not quite the front-7 Dallas has. I think Purdy will be more of a factor in Philly.

Honestly, this isn’t even a game. Feels like exhibition. There’s no tension. If the Eagles somehow lost this game it would be one of the worst losses in sports history.

This game is on Shanahan so far with his borderline play calling (super conservative, then unnecessarily aggresive).

1) Not challenging that first call, and ending up with wasted TOs going into the half.
2) Using a third-string TE to try to block Reddick, exposing Purdy
3) Then playing super aggressive with a two-minute offense with Johnson who clearly doesn't even know the playbook when they were only down by 7 going into the half.

Blaming Shanahan is silly. I’ll give you the non-challenge which was huge, but he had Josh freakin Johnson as his QB.

It was still a one-possession game until his aggressive playcalling with a 4th string QB who doesn't even know the playbook. It's either too aggressive or too conservative for Shanahan too many times. And again, using Tyler Kroft to try to protect Purdy from Reddick leading to his injury? The team will need 4 starting QBs to get through a season with his playcalling.

The backup tight end blocking is all on Shanahan. That was a really dumb call. Josh Johnson fumbling a snap that hit him in the hands and being bad isn’t entirely on Shanahan. It’s amazing they even made it this far on QB 3. I think they should’ve dressed Garappolo as a 3rd QB today. Also, the refs were atrocious in this game.
