Non-Sharks Bay Area Sports Thread XXVIII

Looks like the 49ers will be playing the late game on Sunday. Do I record the Sharks game or just watch it in the background. 49ers game of course will be much more important but I kinda hate that it is on at the same time as seeing the exciting Bruins team beat up on San Jose.

I would record the game where Essymont takes Labanc's spot and becomes a star.

The fun that is Twitter when seeing what the other team’s fans are thinking about the upcoming game. Cowboys fans really focusing on the Niner secondary thinking they can exploit that and just isolate the Niners into a passing team and just pressure Purdy into an easy win. They have no idea what they’re in for. They can still win because they are good and it’s football but they make it seem like it’ll be a cakewalk.

Good luck containing the 49ers front 7, especially with a starting Olineman out.

People are searching real hard to find weaknesses on SF. The 49ers will win this game as long as they don’t beat themselves with turnovers.

IF the Niners had a very good as well as an OK CB duo instead of a Not so good and OK CB duo I would feel better about maybe wining it all especially if Mahomes is the other QB. They have given up easy long TDs early in games this year. I hope it doesn't come back to haunt the Niners. I feel great about Purdy but without a lot of film on him it helps the Niners. I hope he can be what he seems to be next year. There have been others who have had even SB winning seasons that turned into pumpkins the next year although Purdy's game doesn't seem like it would go bad.

That Metcalf 50 yard td was press coverage by Mooney Ward without a safety over the top. I have to think one of Ward or the safety misunderstood their assignment because that made it really easy for DK to just run by and Geno to just put it up. Can’t have mistakes like that going forward.

Moseley was a huge loss, that defense with two great corners looked absolutely unstoppable. Made Hufuanga look better imo...once Lenoir subbed in, Huf has been exposed more imo

He has had to stay in coverage more and has spent a lot less time spying and relying on his instincts. When people see him he’s usually giving up a short catch instead of rocking guys near the LOS. I think he’s been productive in the role he’s been in, but it’s definitely a noticeable difference. Luckily Jimmy Ward has been able to slide into the nickel like a glove.

Really hope the Jags can pull off the upset in the 2nd half. Mahomes is the 1 player leaguewide I REALLY want to avoid if the 49ers are fortunate enough to get through the nfc East.
