5 more years of this production and he enters top 15 all time conversation 2 cups and Smythe worthy runs doesn't seem like McDavid is gonna let him have a Ross stoll a chance at the Hart though
nvm responded too quick, thought you were talking about Mcdavid.

You can outpace McDavid for a few weeks, you can be ahead of him for a couple months, you can be within striking distance all year, but he’ll just keep pulling away.

Scoring race is an 82 game endurance race, and this guy just does not fizzle out. Most consistent player I’ve ever seen, elite players having their best week will just barely extend their gap or close the gap to McDavid.

Like someone else said, he’s inevitable.

Players will have games like:

6 points, 3 points, 1 point, 2 points, 0 points and look back to see McDavid pick up two points every game and wonder how they only closed the gap by two points.

This is an insane overreaction. It would take a change in career trajectory.

Top wingers by top 3 in Hart

Howe - 12
Hull - 8
Jagr - 6
Ovechkin - 5
Richard - 5
Lafleur- 4

Kucherov is about to get his second. This isn't getting into guys like Cook or Makarov or Kharlamov who spent their primes out of the NHL. Or Lindsay or Bossy who were disadvantaged in Hart voting.

I think Kucherov will be in the top 15 at the end of the season for wingers. I think he can hit the 10ish spot.

But the top 5-7 is so strong Kucherov would need to hit another gear to get there.
I think he would need to just keep doing what he is doing this season for 5 more years and he is in the discussion

Crazy that for the last 2 months he has more assists and assists per game than Kucherov and MacKinnon have points and points per game despite them scoring at their season long 1.7+ rate that has them on pace for 140+ points, that's legitimately Gretzky like

Let’s see if McDavid can leave this game with the scoring lead. I would expect him to fall back again with both Kucherov and MacKinnon still on tap for today, but what a comeback to land there briefly just 67 days after being down by 22 points, which includes time off for the All-Star break.
to be fair they have played more games also. kuch with 1 more and mackinnon with 3 more. and mcdavid still just passed them

Obviously this is looking like mcdavids to lose but mackinnon winning isnt the worst thing ever. It's really important this year (for obvious reasons) that kucherov not be allowed to win any major awards.

mackinnon has played over 3 games more then mcdavid thats why hes leading. i think we all know if mcdavid played the same amount of games hes probably 4-5 up

Yea but McDavid has missed 2 and Kucherov 1 so far, so in the scope of the Art Ross, he and Lucherov has the same number of games remaining and MacKinnon 1 fewer (2 after tonight).

Not to mention 100+ more minutes on the PP and almost a minute and a half more minutes played a game. Bednar doing all he can to get Mack some individual hardware. And I don’t blame him.

Any special reason Kuch shouldn't win?
