EDIT: Rep I just talked to said replays will be available for all games within 24 hours but..

Soooo why does ESPN+ not show the out of market games on the schedule yet? Only showing games already going to be airing on ESPN+ but say TOR/MTL on Wednesday night is not on the schedule. Not TNT, ABC, or NHLN. Same with WPG/ANA and VAN/EDM

The NHL schedule on ESPN.com list all those games for ESPN+.

I'd imagine games on ABC and TNT wont be on the out of market espn pkg since they are nationally aired in U.S

however in canada , nhl tv will air those tnt games

Anyone know whether all live games not carried by ESPN+ will be made available later for replay (On Demand) on ESPN+?
I vaguely remember that NHL.TV did something like this last season.

They are available on demand - On Demand | Videos | Watch ESPN

The one thing I don't like is after a certain number of days I believe they disappear. One thing I liked about NHL.TV is you could go back and watch a few random games from anybody, at any time of the season if you wanted to. I'd do that sometimes with teams I don't get to see as often.

I believe they've said that it's a 24 hour wait for these replays to appear, which is pretty annoying--in the past replays of national games went up basically once the games were over (local blackouts 48 hours). That meant that if I missed a playoff game, I could fire up NHL.tv later that night and be able to watch the SN/CBC broadcast if I preferred.

The biggest issue is going to be for NHL Network games this year. That feels like a real mis-step. I don't think that'll lead to more subscriptions for NHL Network cable packages, just more irritation with the league. And I say that as someone who does get the network.

The NHL is f***ing clueless when it comes to their league and who they are trying to get to. It's not old people they should be trying to cater. It's the younger crowd who doesn't have cable and want to stream everything. I was looking at their NHL Network schedule and it's almost like the League is laughing at the people they should try to get to watch their league. For example, there is one game on Sunday. That game is on NHL Network. If you have anything other than Cable, Sling or Fubo, you are out of luck. Gee, my Football team is on a bye week and unless I can catch an illegal stream, I can't watch that game. Thanks NHL. :eyeroll:

MLB, NFL, and NBA Networks are all widely available anywhere you look. Only the NHL pretty much makes their own network is entirely limited. Is this an NHL thing or Comcast thing. If it's a Comcast thing, then put the f***ing network on Peacock. I would pay 5 bucks a months for Peacock if that meant I can get NHL Network.

Hey, if you don’t mind my asking did you receive any notification from NHLTV about the ESPN change or auto renewal? I don’t think I got anything at all from them yet

No nothing. Market too small to even put an intern on I suppose. I noticed it because I tried to find out when my credit card would be charged. Curious to learn if we still get a choice in broadcast. Last two Leafs games had pre game and intermissions, so hopefully that will continue.

Also noticed a second studio show coming up daily called In the Crease. Not sure what that is.

Ok thanks. When I logged in to my nhl.com account it just stated that I have no active subscriptions.

Im reasonably hopeful that the ESPN service will be good, the first season I had an online subscription in 2010-11 it was the ESPN player as well, before they switched to the NHLTV a year later. It was decent enough then, and if you were watching the archived version the next day they used to edit out the commercial breaks and intermissions, which saved the trouble of fast-forwarding.

Xfinity has posted an odd update

Center Ice will be $60 from October 12th to DECEMBER 31st

Question for anyone who's had Center Ice for cable in recent years (I switched to GameCenter Live around a decade ago), as I'm contemplating if it's worth adding that to my existing ESPN+ subscription:

Do they always include pre- and post-game shows on games? I'm thinking specifically of Sharks games. It seems that this stuff won't be available on ESPN+, which is really frustrating because NHL.tv only added it for Sharks games a couple years ago and even in some miserable days for the club, it really felt like the connection was greater being able to watch this added stuff. The thought of losing it now is really annoying!

Also, this is maybe more random and Spectrum-specific, but does anyone know if you can also watch the Center Ice channels on the Spectrum app?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts! I'm really annoyed by this change and the regression we're seeing with the move to ESPN+ in this regard and in terms of DVR functionality (like showing time of game on full replay and not allowing for starting at the beginning of an in-progress game).

I started an ESPN+ game and had no option to start from the beginning. I had to rewind it from the live spot. That makes no sense - I already turned scores off and this has the potential to spoil it.

Also, unlike NHL streaming, I don't know if they they show both home and away games. This was one of the things that got me to drop Comcast and Direct TV's feeds and just go with NHL.tv.

I ordered it from Xfinity - they only offering it until 12/31

NHL Center Ice (4 payments)$59.99

$15.00 per month for 4 months Subscription automatically renews at the start of each season, provided Comcast Cable still carries the service, at that season’s full-season early bird rate.

same problems here. People are saying they see both feeds but on my Tv Espn app I don’t have the option like I did with nhl live. Sucks.

Seems like ESPN plus is still a mess. Hide scores feature still buggy and no option to start games from the beginning. Center Ice for $60 looks like a great bargain.

Not surprising really...I'll miss Center Ice for I've had it many years.

Now with an 'exclusive' 75 games on ESPN+ I'm not sure what the Center Ice package will do...I get the impression many like myself will end up switching over to the ESPN+/Disney streaming package to avoid missing games.

I just got Center Ice on Spectrum. $59 for the ENTIRE Season! Life. Is. Good. :)

I have fiber optic internet and this game on ESPN+ looks like dogshit. I get better quality running an illegal stream to the tv from hdmi.

Of course, the commercials look just fine.

So much for ESPN’s bigger and better infrastructure.

I’ve been using NHL.TV the last few years with great quality on gigabit fiber and yeah, I’ve tried both Hulu and the ESPN app and they both look pretty rough. I’m hoping the rebroadcast games from other sources will be better.

Yeah this quality is unwatchable: pixelated, announcers sound like they're talking into styrofoam cups - and ads are full on. If the quality issue isn't fixed in a couple of days I'm cancelling. And for the rest of the night I'm back to "alternative" streams. You outdid yourself on this one NHL, good luck growing the game with this kind of launch. :(
