So if an American is traveling to Canada and wants to watch hockey on ESPN+, what do they do? Is it available in Canada? How can you watch games once you've left the country?

I appreciate saving $160 a year, but I actually started to like nhl.tv there towards the end. I don't really like ESPN+. It's more difficult than it needs to be because there's so much junk. You've got to scroll through a million random sporting events to get to what you want to see.

On the plus side, there shouldn't be streaming issues anymore. If we're on the same platform that they use for NFL/college football, they're going to dump tons of money in it to make it work.

The college football streams are very reliable but the soccer streams are not. They experience technical difficulties all the time. S,o hopefully NHL streams will be more like the other US content

Anyone in Canada with NHL TV noticed major lag and time skips making it unwatchable? My internet connection is the same as last year (no issues then) and can stream HD content no problem otherwise

In previous years, I could watch all out of market games, on Direct TV (with a paid subscription) on Channels 769 to 782. Will that be available this year?

That happened occasionally last year using Roku but hasn’t happened this year , yet . My biggest issue with NHL tv this year ( and last ) is the hide score feature on Roku not working properly.

when I first bought it 4 or so weeks ago it was buffering quite a bit but I'd say the past few weeks its been working alright . I unplugged my modem for 30 minutes when issue popped up so maybe that helped a bit .

I hope everyone is bombarding ESPN and NHL with their complaints. It is not gonna get fixed unless they hear about it from a lot of folks

I figured I'd wait for the regular season to commence before complaining, but I'd be curious to know where you or others are sending or are planning to send complaints.

1-800-727-1800 is the number I called. I spoke with a guy and gave him a couple of games. One in sync. One out of sync. He confirmed on his end that they were same as I was seeing them. What is done next I don't know.

Today is the first day I'm having issues with ESPN+. It's buffering, going blurry, and stopped briefly for a few seconds. Today is a big sports day with College Football, so if ESPN+ can't handle the load then Saturday (Which is a big Hockey day usually) is going to not be fun. Hopefully it's just a hiccup. I really want them to update this app and make things easier to find before Tuesday.

Yeah, this is awful. I have great internet, but the game keeps buffering and stopping. I'm almost starting to think ESPN+ is becoming like Itunes. It's airing too much and the servers can't handle it.

Ok, this is driving me around the f***ing bend.

I used to have 3 teams set as Favorites on the NHL app. I have logged into the app on my phone and ipad to delete the other 2 teams. If I log out the deleted teams return!

Also, when I view the app on my tv, again the 3 teams are listed and I cannot find any way to delete them from the tv version of the app. I use Roku to stream on my tv.

Help !

EDIT

Cracked it. I had to go to NHL Live on the laptop and find the settings there.

EDIT: Rep I just talked to said replays will be available for all games within 24 hours but..

Soooo why does ESPN+ not show the out of market games on the schedule yet? Only showing games already going to be airing on ESPN+ but say TOR/MTL on Wednesday night is not on the schedule. Not TNT, ABC, or NHLN. Same with WPG/ANA and VAN/EDM

I am sure things will improve when the regular season begins, but a full slate of pre-season games during the night and only one available on ESPN Player (number of countries, different from ESPN+). No choice of which feed you want to watch either. No pre-game, no intermissions. The image fading in and out with some fake crowd noice that is played non-stop during breaks en intermissions is already extremely irritating.

So far I am really disappointed with the forced change from NHL.tv to ESPN Player.

Hey, if you don’t mind my asking did you receive any notification from NHLTV about the ESPN change or auto renewal? I don’t think I got anything at all from them yet

Came here to ask the same question. I don't see a schedule for all the games like it was on NHL TV.

I was wondering about this stuff too. I have used Center Ice only for the last 10 years. I was thinking of switching to ESPN+ this year because it is so cheap. Then I saw a commercial the other day advertising center ice for 15.00 a month for 4 months. That is significantly cheaper than the usual 160.00 bucks a year. Is the ESPN deal forcing the price down?
