NHL.TV / Center Ice / ESPN+ Discussion - Part IV [See the warning in OP]

I've been watching more on ESPN+ and so far it hasn't been too bad. I really do like the multi-cast feature on the Apple TV and that will come in handy on the busy days (Thursday and Saturday). I will say though that I wish the navigation was so much better and they did give an option to hide scores. It's not going to be easy to watch a game on delay this year. I would love to just have the default go to the NHL page and there be an option to hide scores.

Also, ESPN+ on the computer is way too basic for my tastes. They need like a stats section, or just a way to navigate from game to game. Why isn't multi-cast on the brower anyway. From a computer standpoint, NHL.TV was much better.

Another reason to say f*** you to the new nhltv deal, rain f***ed my recording of the rangers game.

TNT games not available on demand on espn+

Good job way to think this thing through. I should be able to watch the game but have to wait 24-48 hours.

On mobile/tablet not to mention where the f*** is the option to choose your feed. I am not sure what options there was in canada for the leafs/habs game but there damn sure was an American and canadian feed for the ducks and youre stuck w 1 option NO choices.

PS5 app has the ability to choose your feed. I am guessing the xbox does too.

Once again MOTHER f*** you espn+

Was using multicast on my Apple TV last night and it was great.

From a cost perspective I'm loving ESPN+ compared to NHL.TV

I just signed up for ESPN+ I live on the West Coast and almost always watch Sabres games on delay. Is there any way to hide the scores? I saw a comment above that you can't do it, but I'm thinking there must be some way to do it. Any ideas?

:laugh: My biggest complaint so far. I would rather see nothing.

You'll see those anywhere. I see them every break and I'm not using ESPN+. I see them when I'm binging Deadliest Catch on YouTube TV.

I'd hate for this to be seen as me defending ESPN. I'm not!

They are not doing the pregame shows. That's a bummer. I guess I was fooled when you see ESPN plus and all the games start a half hour earlier than the actual time.

I thought I saw some last night, but maybe that was just some intermission and postgame stuff. Still. We'll see.

On top of that, I checked the Center Ice schedule from InDemand and the Sharks for some reason have ZERO home telecasts listed, even though some are home games where they instead have only the away feed listed. It's been a decade since I had Center Ice, but I occasionally will look at the schedule and I don't recall ever seeing anything like this. What did we ever do to deserve this?!

Anyone having any issues with the ESPN app on iPad? Trying to watch the west coast games, and it's just spinning at a ESPN logo. :ha:

After a full day with many games I think I'm ready to say that ESPN+ is garbage and I know why they decreased the cost of the out of market service. We get less games, poor quality, and a service that is a massive massive downgrade from what we had. Navigation is terrible, everything is incorporated so I don't know what I'm pressing, and I'm actually angry that we got such a downgrade. This is how they treat NHL Fans (Like Crap) and it's getting nauseating. The NHL needs to figure out how to sell their product and I don't think they actually care. Gotta get that sweet ESPN money I guess.

By the way, all this bad mouthing of NBC, I liked their coverage, and I miss their theme song. Was it great? Not really, but it was doable and I already miss John Forslund on the national telecasts.

Also, f*** NHL Network with a f***ing Chainsaw. Put those games on a streaming service you f***ing Idiots (NHL).

Forslund did the kraken game on espn and he is their regular pbp guy now

NHL.TV doesn't show pre and postgame shows from Bally Sports network anymore. It includes teams like: Coyotes, Red Wings, Panthers, Blues, Wild, Blue Jackets, Ducks, Kings, Canes, Preds, Stars and Lightning.

Used my Xbox to watch the Wings game last night and it wasn't the greatest quality. Was staggering a lot of the time. Not big enough to where its not watchable but its noticeable. nhl.tv was a much better stream for me. Ordered a Roku and will try it on that to see if it changes.

Something else I've noticed when trying to watch replays later in the night or the next day: At least on the Roku, if you go to the NHL page on ESPN+, you're inundated by spoilers. There's always an image corresponding to their In the Crease show replay, one that often is a clear indicator of who won a certain game. And then right below the row of replays, there's a row of highlights from games.

I really miss NHL.tv. All of these choices by ESPN+, from leaving the time marker on during replays to not allowing to start an in-progress game from the beginning, to these spoilers being everywhere, just tell me they don't give a damn about serious out-of-market fans. I don't care about the money I'm saving in this switch; I'd happily pay extra at this point just to have things back to the way they were and the way they should be.

Anybody explain to me why when I try to switch feeds, it plays both broadcasts via sound but still show the original home broadcast???

I think it is an issue with the app itself. I have the same problem when using the app on the iPhone. When watching on a fire stick I can switch just fine.

Guys if I’m in vegas and my dad in San Diego could we both be logged in at the same time to watch the ducks game or other games ? I’ve never used espn+ before

ESPN is SUCH trash. GameCenter and NHLTV were far superior. I got pretty much EVERY game on those. The viewable games on ESPN+ are just a fraction. Unreal.

Hate to not add to the complaining but for the price so far I'm liking it. I'm getting a really sharp picture (better than NHLTV). Was able to to pick my broadcast choice no problem. I live in NY and of course get blacked out on those( I have cable as well so still get those anyway). I dont need the bells and whistles just a good picture and a choice of broadcast and I'm happy.

So apparently on mobile you click the icon that looks like the camera and you can choose your feed. I think opening night it wasnt working for me.

PS5 when you click the game it then asks for which feed. Mobile it just picks one then you can switch with the camera icon.

Also now that were passed what would be the blackout time, the TNT games are available on espn+. :shakehead
