Keep up. The context is the willingness of Point to play tough hockey in the dirty areas relative to Marner.
There is nothing that indicates Point plays a more physical game and shies away less from contact.
Still waiting for the +25% shooting percentage btw. What's happening? bad luck?
No clue bro i guess its kucherovs turn to be lucky.

That isn't a personal opinion that is what the analytics and stats are suggesting, should be happening if the Leafs intend on winning games.

Marner gets almost 25 minutes of icetime a game which is over a full period a game and playing alongside the Rocket Richard trophy winner as top goal scorer in the league. So both access and opportunity to flourish statistically.

In his last 18 playoff games played the Leafs have lost 11 of them, and in those 11 losses over 3 playoff years now Marner has produced 1 ES 5v5 assist and 1 X PP assist total. that's it and that's all..
Summary 11 X Leaf losses (4 X BOS, 3 X CBJ & 4 X Mon) and Marner contributed 0 goals 2 assists and 2 points :amazed::towel:. How hard could it be to find a player capable of scoring a single goal or supplant those 2 assists that might have swung a single game from a loss to a win and advanced the team to the next round?

The Leafs over the past 4 playoffs have been in 8 series potential clinching games for Toronto and their record is 0-8 and Marner's contribution is 0-2-2 points in those games.

If Marner isn't scoring goals and isn't setting up very many particular in meaningful games that ALL resulted in Leafs losses than why bother playing him? Fish or cut bait, and stop vacillating and act on something or disengage from it.

but sir, remember that time he blocked two shots??

I don't even have Mitch in top 20 players in league due to his skating speed issues combined with lack of physical play .. think about guys below and they all gotta be on your team before Mitch - McJesus, MAC Kuch, OV, Drai, Marchand, Matty, Crosby, Barkov, Point, Pasta, Kaner, Stammer, Rantanen, Aho, Berge, Barzal, Hedman, Makar, Jones, Vasi, Price. I think he is in da 20-30 crowd somewhere. He is just so overpaid based on his regular season stat line. Team can't recover his AAV in current stalled CAP climate next 2-3 years. And we only have 3 more years with any hope for contention. It is a real bad situation. Non recoverable. It will end badly.

hopefully Dubas acts quickly to fix the situation, but I suspect he'll drag it out like with Babcock

Its almost getting to a point for the Leafs should Kucherov Marner for the playoffs, and start dressing some players that are capable of playing in a playoff environment and style game and contribute to the cause of winning.

He should have been on the third line for games 6,7 minimum when it was apparent he was having a mental breakdown.

There is a lot more time and space on the third line

Ahhh
Caveat #102 (all cumulative)....Marner sucks because he doesnt have a playoffs finals point.
Are you for real?
How can you go through 50 years of life on this planet and make stupid asinine arguments like this. That truly blows my mind.

FIRST: You brought up points totals against the habs as if thats relevant when comparing him and mitch considering the dudes won a cup and has been one of the main reasons for it.

Point has 75 points in 65 games in the playoffs including 36 goals and your asinine argument is to bring in the comparison to how he is doing against the habs? WHO CARES? He has another 23 points in 21 games to help his team get to the cup finals. Marner sucks cus he can't lead his team to shit despite commanding a premium salary and he chickens out when it counts.

Do you really think people are that stupid to fall for your's and brobusts dumb arguments that this kid is okay and what he's contributed is fine?

At this point you guys are not even changing goal posts, your playing a whole new sport. Get datsyuk and points name out of your mouths when comparing it with bitch marner. It is not even close.

You cant compare statistics in different populations. I wish I can say that is the most idiotic thing I have ever heard but the last few weeks here put that in doubt.
Perhaps you need to settle down and start talking about things that you know.
Stop appealing to social confirmation and begin by constructing a coherent rational argument. If you cite data, have the courtesy of normalizing it so that it makes some sense. If you don't know how to do that, just stay silent. You are just wasting my time.

Take a good long look in the mirror pal.

Here are all Marners career playoff goals. I know I'm a critic, but none leave my jaw dropped. None are a result of incredible skill (outside of the penalty shot). Maybe puck sense and being at the right place at the right time?

He's playing as well as he can for the high pressure contact he signed.

It's not much different if you look at regular season goals.

The backhand goal was pretty sweet but otherwise nothing too extraordinary. Guess the only other thing is he seemed to have more of a nose for the net previously, now he seems allergic to going to the front of the net and always defers to pass.

You said a whole bunch of nothing here. Its not different populations- its as similar you're going to get- same years, same rules, same league. EVEN if you strip out effects of line mates and opposition, score effects and game situation, point will be heads and shoulders above mitch.

Its also funny that you say to construct a coherent rational argument when you compare brayden points stats against montreal in 3 games to marners vs montreal. So you can't ocmpare statistics in different populations but you can compare statistics from a sample of 3 games? Now I WISH that was the most idiotic thing I have ever heard but you and the marner fanboys have put that in doubt.

It’s actually baffling that he’s gone 70+ games without a PP goal given how much time he spends on it. Like what the f*** how has he not even accidentally bounced it off of someone and in?
It's bizarre for sure
But I guess the coa hung staff doesn't care
Either that or they don't want to hurt his feelings by taking him off

Pretty certain 1 Stanley Cup and another likely to follow all within 8 months would constitute that “greener grass.”

Well Tampa Bay has 100million dollars worth of roster players at the moment.

Where the hell is your self awareness? Top 5 scoring player in the league and 1st team all star is shit?
If Marner played with Kutcherov, it would be lights out. His career stats are better without playing with a veteran superstar. Point isnt even a career point a game player.
You want to judge Marner by a Montreal series, then judge point by one too. Good player but far from better.
