Kaprizov - Rossi - Hartman
Johansson - Eriksson Ek - Boldy
Foligno - Gaudreau - Zuccarello
I like this one the most I think, Zucc won’t do well in this scenario, but it’s what his play this season has deserved, this would get him the opportunity to simplify his game more, I’ve heard rumors that he was a good defensive forward at one point, sure would like to see some of that in his current play.

Yeah I like these lines better. Would like to see Dewar get some looks with more skilled players at some point though. Feel like there might be more to his game that he hasn’t gotten the opportunity to showcase.

Hartman leads the team with 6 goals, he's also third star of the week. I doubt they'll replace him with Rossi who has 4 points in 9 games.

Zuccarello is a ppg player, and one of the best playmakers. I also doubt you'll see him on the 3rd line.

The game is up and down for every player, they just have to get through it. This start of the season looks very much like last season, they still ended up well into a playoff spot.

Not trying to pile on Zucc, but with the minutes and favorable situations that the line has been getting, PPG is a very minimal threshold. Are you aware that Zucc is averaging 1:08 per shift at even strength? He and Kap are the only forwards over a minute average. Do you think he has the stamina at his age to continue to do that? JEE and Hartman are both well below him and this doesn’t include power play.

He can stay on the power play if you want.

No, I've no idea where he finds the energy.

I expect Boldy on the top line at some point. And if he has success we should see Zucc on the 2nd line.

Well Evason obviously doesn't think so. But Zucc can't keep playing 23 mins a game.

Evason is notably a bad coach so, I guess if that's where you wanna hang your hat?

i heard on kfan yesterday that we have the worst GA or GAA in the nhl? YIKES! i thought we would make the playoffs but im starting to have my doubts. maybe we just overachieved last season?

Some Athletic article today brought up players that were off to slow starts, and Dumba was in there, mentioning that he's been bad with terrible underlying numbers.

Doesn't mean the same thing would be happening here, but he's not tearing it up down there.

Maybe people underestimated how good Spurgeon and Dumba are.

For what it's worth, Dumba seems to be having a rough time in Arizona.

1 point in 8 games and poor underlying numbers, both in a vacuum and relative to their other D.

Edit: somehow missed the previous message, oops

Devils advocate - like in Minnesota, he's being played in a role that he just isn't right for. He's playing the most EV and PK minutes but most of us has argued he's best on a complimentary role just eating secondary minutes and being a solid all-round guy. I think he would thrive as a #4 guy and properly valued at around $3-4mil AAV. He's still a solid pro but he's no longer that promising young guy that delivers big hits and has a dangerous slapper.

Dumba at 6M was a liability, IMO. At 3.5M, he's an asset.

In retrospect, I would rather he got Foligno's new deal, sans NMC, and we sent Foligno to ARI. I just never imagined that BG would have re-upped him at 4x4M, and a NMC, so never thought there was a choice between the two.

It was time to move on from Dumba in my opinion, I personally would have disliked him getting extended far more than the Foligno and Hartman deals but that’s just me.

Looking at the schedule ahead, we have 5 games vs New York teams coming up this and next week. It would be great to have Boldy back the next two home games (Devils, Rangers) with maybe 2 practices before thursday/Devils game. Now, I don´t think we can win against Devils having seen their speed and skill the previous game.
While the Rangers just sweeped their 5-game road trip out west, that game seems more winnable due to them underestimating the Wild.

Then we have a road trip out east with Isles, Rangers and Sabres, then heading home to play Stars before the Sweden trip.
It would be nice to get Boldy back thursday and Freddy for the New York trip. And finally Spurge back in Sweden

I was pretty blase about losing Jack McBain but now he's outscoring Foligno at $1.6. I know he had the big game against Chicago and probably sucks in the room. Anyhow Arizona is doing what's right: if you're not contending, you should be rebuilding through younger guys and cheap prove-it deals. Not thanks for all you've done here's a retirement contract.

There are players' coaches who are ineffective because they remember all too well what it was like to be that player... Guerin is a players' GM.

Well, NJD barely beat us at home. If we stay out of the box we'll have a shot.
