Depends on how the player approached me, to be honest.
"Hey coach. I'm getting a bit older and feel run down getting so many minutes. If we could scale back just a little bit, I think I would be more effective", would sit fairly well with me.
Yes, you understand how it works.

How long does y'all think that uhh, Fleury will be out? Any word on that or rumors?
Progressing very well, coach said.

So if Jost clears they'll have to pay him $2 million in the minors? Another Rask situation?
Oh Billy

For as much as I dislike GMBG, Rask wasn't a problem of his making. Jost on the other hand is all on GMBG.

Jost gets paid $2.25m this season no matter where he plays. He'll be an $875k cap hit for MN if he's not claimed. I think he'll get picked up by someone.

The tinfoil hat part of me thinks the GM is doing this so the coach has no other option but to keep Rossi in the lineup.

His actual salary is the least of my concerns. Another Guerin pickup that's one and done though. Add him to the list. Johansson, Bonino, Bjugstad. All guys Guerin thought would be good enough to bring in and play in roles above their abilities, all gone because they weren't.

I wouldn't have Bjugstad on that list. He cost nothing to acquire and was a re-signed to fair $900k x 1 12/13 FWD payday.

I'm talking about the broader trend of guys Guerin brings in not being effective and leaving shortly after.

Even now, looking at the bottom of the lineup guys, Duhaime, Shaw and Dewar are the ones worth keeping. None of those were guys Guerin acquired. Steel and Jost aren't worth keeping. They're guys Guerin acquired.

Gaudreau is a good pickup by Guerin, although not in the spots he's been forced into. Merrill is fine, but nothing special. Same with Middleton.

I don't disagree with that. Most have his moves have actively downgraded the on-ice (at the time) team. Talbot/MAF were the only players that he's signed that aren't bottom of the lineup players.

I honestly think this team needs to decide before the Christmas break if they are going for it or if they want to take a shot next year.

Trades take time and you don't want to get caught with your pants down. Zuccs, Dumba, Gus need to be traded. Just have a fire sale on anyone not named Rossi, Boldy, Kap and JEE

Middleton is significantly stronger, and tougher than Goligoski. This D is already low on size and strength...replacing Middleton with Goligoski would make us even worse in board and net front battles.

I was always a Soucy fan- Cole, not so much.

Now you're going too far!
I mean, I’m stronger and tougher than Goligoski. Does that make me a better hockey player? Middleton sucks at almost everything that has to do with hockey. He doesn’t get a pass from me just because he is big.

DB, for all I know you are Brian Shaw in real life, but if you are as strong as Middleton then you are one very strong man. Guys who play like Middleton are very strong, and tough.

Rossi between Shaw and Dewar? Not great for his development.. Can’t believe it’s not even in Iowa, but this is what reality is for a retool. Steel is now our new rotating 1C

Guerin has to figure out how to make thing work after the ridiculous 13 f***ing million contracts given to Parise and Sutter. That’s Leipolds f*** up not BBB.

That wasn’t a hockey move that was a dumb shit owner trying to sell tickets.

Guerin knew what he was getting into when he applied for the job.

Rossi is bringing down Dewar and Shaw's development, at this point. I tried to tell you guys that Rossi was not the best forward in Iowa last year. That would be Dewar, followed by, in no particular order, Rau, Shaw, and Rossi.

This year Dewar is playing decently, and more importantly bringing some of the grit that Evason wants. Shaw has been playing like a man possessed. Rossi looks...overwhelmed.

I am not sure what the right path forward is for Rossi. If he doesn't have a couple of good game/points soon , then going down to Iowa wouldn't be the worst thing.
