As good as the Lions are right now, I am still extremely unhappy about picking Gibbs at #12. Even if the player had not been injured and could contribute right now, I cannot get myself to ignore how Swift produces for the Eagles or how quickly reserve and FA RBs chime in like with the Browns. It feels like a good pick thrown away, since productive RBs aren't difficult to acquire at all.

The Browns went from a guy averaging 6.1 YPC (5.3 YPC career) to a guy averaging 4.0 YPC.

Gibbs 4.6 YPC.
Montgomery 4.1 YPC (that pesky endzone keeps getting in his way)
Reynolds 3.7 YPC

The drop off from top level guys to reserve and FA RBs seems pretty apparent to me

You need players like Gibbs. He's a nightmare to gameplan against and is a much different RB than Montgomery. When Gibbs plays, he makes a difference. Swift's year in Philly is (so far) a huge anomaly in his career.

I'm a Falcons fan. They had Patterson and Allgeier rack up 1,000 yds a piece last year and they still picked Bijan Robinson at 7. You will have a hard time finding a Falcons fan that disagrees with the pick now.

Yeah i'm not getting confident and comfortable until after week 12 or so and they are still winning games. Definitely enjoying the ride so far, this is about the time during the season where I stop watching the Lions, around week 7-8 or so because they are already eliminated usually.

Miles Sanders was very productive for Philadelphia last year and they let him go. Fans here were moaning over letting Jamaal Williams go. It's more about the O-line and system.

That said, I still would have taken Carter had we not moved back. However that trade landed us the early second rounder where we took LaPorta.

I'll be more than happy to go 1-1 into their bye week. This teams need some rest to get guys back healthy.

I will say what makes me a true believer after all these years of trauma is that William Clay Ford is no longer alive. I’m sure he was a lovely man but he couldn’t have been a worse professional franchise owner lol. When he bought the farm in 2014, Martha Ford had a new sense of urgency her husband never had. Unfortunately, that brought in the Quinntricia debacle.

Fast forward to 2020 and her turning the team over to Sheila Hamp (she dropped the Ford, folks) and it’s been like a completely new organization. She brings in actual football people so the Lions can be run like a real professional sports franchise for the first time since 1962 (WCF bought the team November 22, 1963 which, had JFK not been assassinated, may have been the darkest day in the country’s history, if you’re a Lion’s fan).

What’s different this time, is that the Lions have a GM who drafts well, finds starters late in the draft. Almost all of the best players on the team are home grown on rookie deals so it will be sustainable and not just a one year run. These players are only going to get better. All 3 units are playing well, rather than just having a good offense or a good defense like in years’ past.

And then on top of all that, they obviously have the coach who the players love. The GM, coach, and ownership are all on the same page and ownership isn’t interfering like WCF was notorious for.

Still sticking with this. I figured a loss was coming between Tampa and Baltimore. Will certainly be more concerning if they don't respond against Vegas prior to their bye week. But all and all, Lions have been better than what I thought.

No one was good today and they were blown out by a good team. It happens, you move on.

There are only two goals for this season. Win the division and win a playoff game. If Detroit can just manage one of those, it's a successful season.

So have a few mates in Australia who recently got into NFL so we started a fantasy league, it’s a only a 5 player league but thought we could give a crack, is my team any good?

That's a stacked team. You could do much better than Alexander Mattison, though, depending on who is in your free agency. The Viking's Rush "Offense" is horrendous and I don't see that improving any time soon or at all this season.

Man... what in the world is UofM football doing.

Connor Stalions, a suspended analyst for Michigan, is accused of a three-year scheme using game tickets and television broadcasts to steal signs coaches use to signal in plays to the field. The controversy has sparked renewed interest in in-helmet communication to quarterbacks, something OSU coach Ryan Day mentioned during his media availability this week and Alabama coach Nick Saban also said he supports.

From Dellenger: "The Michigan case represents the largest scale sign-stealing scheme ever publicized in the recent history of college sports. It’s no surprise that the system eventually leaked because of its sheer size and foolish moves."

Drive 60 yards, turnover. Drive 60 yards, turnover. Drive 60 yards, turnover. Hope Jimmy G is terrible. Drive 60 yards, turnover. Field Goal. Field Goal. Field Goal. Field Goal. Field Goal. Field Goal.

Unusual way to win a game.

If I'm Davante Adams, I'm demanding a trade today. One catch for 11 yards - he had multiple plays of being wide open where he could've taken it to the house, and Jimmy Noodle Arm couldn't ever get him the ball.
