Is Jackson Lacombe becoming a #1 defenseman?

Last week, Yahoo Fantasy Hockey told me he was the 50th ranked player over the last 30 day. That was the first I'd heard of him but picked him up any way.

He was definitely overshadowed in the Ducks' prospect pool, particularly by the three CHL dmen of the year. But he was also a high 2nd rounder, and would have likely been the top D prospect for quite a few teams, as opposed to the Ducks' 4th ranked one.

According to Ducks fans they have 4 #1 dmen at this point lol. Depending on who is playing hot.

The answer to the question is no. At least no one can say he is even close to that by this point. He has 100 NHL games on a team with no expectation to win anything.
Show some receipts because I'm pretty sure this is bullshit. Minty last year looked like he had #1 potential, and I think most Ducks fans still think he does, but he is having a sophmore slump.

LaCombe is getting this hype because of how he is playing. And it isn't a short term thing. He has been a solid top 4 guy all year. Since the start of December he has kicked it up a notch.

Depends on your definition of #1. Some people think that if you’re the best D on your shitty team you’re a #1 defenseman. Others think that if you’re a top 32 defenseman in the game you’re a #1 defenseman and that teams can have multiple #1s.

Lacombe is both. Bottom end of that list but he’s legit.

He has just been playing unreal. You just feel alright when he's out on the ice, like mostly good things will happen when he is out there. I don't recall that feeling in a Ducks dman for a while.
