My man, I mostly unplugged from the awful NFL years ago, I just follow the Lions, and generally don't interact with other fans unless it's out of convenience like on a Red Wings forum where I spend time lol. I'm just riffing on this thread where there are some Lions fans saying, 'hey, the Lions should be good,' and the Lions just beating the SB champs on the road, and then a Packers fan trying to throw cold water on it all. With the amount of suffering this franchise has inflicted on its fanbase for so many years, no one's interested in the cold water, and especially not from a Packers fan :pout:
Jaster, my brother, this is how you guys know you've made it.

People don't throw cold water on teams that are write offs. Well, except the Bears, there isn't enough cold water in the world to throw onto that annually delusional fanbase in the offseason.

Well then thanks to Bench for verifying that....

The Institute of All Things Obvious would like to make an announcement:

We consider The Minnesota Vikings as a candidate for regression this year.

Hope the injuries aren’t too bad.

This game revealed areas that need improvement, and while I like Gibbs, Laporta, and Campbell as individual players it still grinds my gears that we didn’t invest more draft capital into key defensive positions.

That said I don’t think an OT loss against a Seattle team executing well is the worst outcome in a long season. Everyone else in the division lost too.

Refs were poor of course but to win the division you’ve got to get over that mental hurdle. I thought we did well with the adversity in Kansas City, hit and miss today.

I'd wager there are multiple hundreds of fans regretting buying those up-priced tickets.

Have to assume they are younger, inexperienced Lions fans. Those of us who are more seasoned are still taking the wait and see approach.

That said, best case scenario going into this season was starting the year 1-1. I legitimately thought the Lions would be 0-2 at this point.

I'm disappointed that the defense couldn't come up with a few more stops. But at least the Falcons helped out and Detroit is still tied atop the division.

On to Atlanta.

Bad blow getting the worst zebra crew in NFL. Hutch was held non-stop and Seattle gets away with blatant late hit on Goff & taunting plus offensive PI in end zone. At least Seattle was shackled with the bogus intentional grounding. But they knew going in it was going to be a rough ride with this zebra crew.

MC/DC and Ben Johnson need to consider scaling back the aggressive play calling. AG's defensive scheming cannot keep them in the game when points are gambled. No point in paying a kicker when he's not used.

Jerry Jacobs is a great dude and great story but he is getting killed in the secondary.

Hype train...derailed

I mean, the thing that did it was Montgomery fumbling on the 25 right out of half. Seattle was down and stumbling. They hadn't run all day. Instead of handling them a tie 44 seconds into the second half, grind 6 minutes off the clock and go up 10 or 14 on that drive, and none of this happens. Spiraled out of control after that.

It's a miracle what AJ Hinch has been able to do with this roster. Really wish the Illitch family would invest in better players.

We're getting closer to truth time. With Miggy's contract expiring, ERod likely opting out, and some young talent finally (hopefully) emerging, it'll be truly depressing if they don't try to add legit players soon. Too bad we'll be dragging that Baez boat anchor contract around for another 4 years. Only $98M in salary to go.

Please let me know what I'm missing here. It's great that they're being inclusive, but her stats from Sweden look horrendous.

How does the level of play in the ECHL compare to the league she came from?

no idea but she could just play for like the worst team ever, judging by her GAA/Save Percentage she faces like 37 shots a night and I doubt she had much goal support either with that 1-11 record

not sure how 37 shots against/night compares to other teams in that league though

Not judging any of these answers except Veleno saying 4 pillows because it's Veleno and it just feels fun to tease that Himbo in particular about something like that.

The OSU/ND game was incredible for all the wrong reasons, I loved it. Both teams have another 1-2 losses ahead, imo.

Classic Michigan/ND early season game, where you think you're watching good teams until you you found out you didn't.

I thought both teams demonstrated significant exploitable weaknesses.

Yep, this off season should kinda show what CHris ILlith is about. With the Cabrera contract coming off the books they can afford to pay a couple solid bats without changing their bottom 10 pay roll. Without even looking at who is available this off season, it seems like you could add a couple decent bats to help insulate guys like Tork and Greene.

Also, I cant remember the last time the lions had more sacks than points allowed in a game. Brian Branch is a stud, would have to be a pretty bad GM/organisation to trade the pick required to draft him lol

Unfortuantely there's not a lot out there... but a few names that might be worth looking into: Joc Pederson, Teoscar Hernandez, Matt Chapman, Rhys Hoskins, Lourdes Gurriel. Maybe Chris will splurge on Ohtani.

Branch is the first DB since 1994 to have at least 10 tackles, 3 TFL & 2 passes defended in a single game. :amazed:

If Chris (or any owner really) had a brain, they would. And they’d promote the f*** out of him. Ohtani will command $60m per year. He’ll return you at least double that if you market him right.

It would be like WCW when they signed Macho Man in the mid 90s. He brought the slim Jim ad campaign with him and they made more money from it than Macho Man cost.

Whoever signs Ohtani needs to market him like crazy, but he’s going to be, regardless of his MVP level play, one of the best bargains in baseball at 60m a year

I would like to formally welcome all my Detroit friends to the Jordan Love era.

In my cheesehead, Detroit are my rivals alter-ego, I started the season cautiously optimistic; now I'm simply optimistic.
