- We hire a coach that coached McDavid in juniors by McDavids former agent?
- We put Coffey in as an assistant coach, who sounds like didn't even want to coach.
- Talk about wanting our D to be more aggressive?

So we hire a coach, with no NHL experience to dig us out of this hole, and employee Coffey who wasn't known for his great defensive skills. And their solution is to have the D be faster and push harder offensively?

This is not juniors, this is not the f***ing 80s, Do they think exposing Skinner to more odd man rushes is going to be good at all? But hell, f*** winning, scoring goals is all that matters it seems.

McDavid should not be running this team, if he is this way we would be better off trading him because we are not going to win anything with him running the team.

Lots of Nuck love this year, I wonder what has changed. Playing well, sure. A model franchise, I'm not quite sold on that. Cole, Soucy and Myers all look like big coke machines unable to move when the play is in their end...ie. the recent Leafs game. Please don't take it personally, I just really loathe that franchise.

That might explain why Coffey is on the bench. That idea must have come from someone and there's no secret Coffey is close to the higher-ups.

If he can get them playing the box+1 competently, I'm all for the hire.

It would be quite the coincidence if it just so happened that the incredibly insular group they've hired here who are all related to McDavid or the OBC in one way or another ended up being the winning combination that pushes us over the top.

Not hopeful about the recent set of moves. For me, I would have liked to see someone we know is going to push these guys to their limits like Tocchet in Vancouver, like Sutter in L.A. and Calgary, like Cassidy, etc. See what we really have in some of these players who may only need a shift in perspective and what they're personally capable of before we think about moving them. I do not envision Mr. Knoblauch moving the needle or being capable of inspiring dogged determination and grit into most of this roster who are lacking it.

Knoblauch made mention of the biggest tool coaches have, in response to holding players accountable: ice time. We'll see if that actually applies to leadership or if it's just for rookies and young players still learning, as has historically happened in recent times.

I think that shit only applies when you have the depth to compensate for benching your best players.

In other words, in a do or die season in which you now need every point you can get, how can you justify benching anybody in the name of accountability when it feels like we’re already bare to the bones.
