Even if you look at AHL candidates, how is Knoblauch a better candidate than someone like Nelson for example?

And I’m not sure how “covering” gallant or Q disqualifies the fact that they are better candidates than Knoblauch.

You hire best candidate, do you truly think he was the best candidate available from the options that are out there?

I would’ve taken a hard look at Q. This organization is notorious for taking in people with shady past and keeping it clean/avoiding conflict with them.

And Q is a way better candidate and coach than Knob is or likely will ever be.

I think that shit only applies when you have the depth to compensate for benching your best players.

In other words, in a do or die season in which you now need every point you can get, how can you justify benching anybody in the name of accountability when it feels like we’re already bare to the bones.

The team just threw away 4/6points on this road trip to ensure a lame duck coach had a more comfortable firing. Benching someone once for 3 shifts will not hurt anything.

Watching the presser on TSN.ca and I much prefer Knoblauch over Woodcroft.

He seems more humble and more acceptance of change (esp strategy wise) than Woodcroft was.

That is what the articles talk about. He is accepting of change if something is not working. He does not try to shove a square into a round hole. Whether that is in a game or between games.

I would have loved Quennville, but that’s obviously a loaded hire and it’s likely the league might not even allow him back in the league at this point, especially with further allegations recently being leveled against the Blackhawks.

Hindsight is 20/20. In all of those games, you play your best players to give you a shot to come back and get the two points. Even more so when you’re a supposed contender and you’re trying to make the playoffs.

Rishaug asking if more accountability needed to be demonstrated to the team by coaching staff, holding guys to account. Holland on a rambler again, says 'that's a really good question'. Attaboy, way to earn that $5 million Holland.

Holland also took accountability and said because of his moves, Woody was put into a tight spot and couldn't healthy scratch guys, etc

What I find interesting is a HC gets to pick his staff. Knoblach inherits the forever incumbent Schwartz, Gulutzan and has Coffey gifted a position.

All I can do is laugh at this point.

Because he’s vain and full of himself just like all of the OBC? I donno. Why have any of these imbeciles thought they should be able to steer the direction of this team decades after playing for this organization.

Sometimes people go back to their starting places searching for meaning and connection with past. Its comforting to visit spots where one was at young or to be involved in the same.

For some people and particularly famous people the one time in their life kind of defines them, and its natural to go back to it. For most of us life is different. We may have several jobs, or times of life we look back to. For the famous it tends to be the one thing.

Whether Coffey will be good here is unknown. What is known is he was, and is, brighter than Kevin Lowe.

Coffey and Messier were the most intelligent players on that club. Coffey is certainly not an imbecile.

In anycase how the 80's unfolded was a magic time for the org and everybody involved. It defined all of them. But Coffey was gonna be great anywhere and was.

No other teams have this kind of shit. This franchise is a joke. Anyone who defends it is an idiot.
