actually, i feel like his issues have been trying to do exactly those things. Fact of the matter is, he's strong and fast enough that for every battle or race he loses, he'll win three. Last night was a great example of Kreider taking that to heart.

Not being Tarasenko or Benn does not mean he's playing like a dolt, in fact, trying to be those players and not playing to his own strengths has been the problem. Much of that is on him, some has been misuse from the coaches imo.

Thanks to your avatar, I know if he gives effort, he can even make himself look like the late great Dave Brockie! HAIL ODERUS!

You're right, he needs to play for what he is and not kill himself failing to be someone else.

I still hold max love for Kreidizzle, he is still that game breaker that can make the biggest difference for us when the engine's on. Some guys sometimes get themselves in the sand trap, he won't stay there forever.

hes still a kid, still learning the NHL, and still prone to mistakes. hockey iq is such an overly used excuse for bad play.

Considering there are so many guys younger than him outplaying him, at what point will you no longer call him a kid?

Plenty of players also come near the end of their prime production years when they are not much older than Kreider. Calling him young and in need of more time at this point....with his experience.....and his contract year....is excuse-making.

kreider, while certainly a legit physical freak, still seems like an empty vessel imo.

hes another one, like nash, who amazingly manages to do less with more.

if the right deal came along, i would most certainly not hang up the phone.

his game seems to have staaled..... lol

If kreider could be moved I'd look for a legit shooter.. he's another one of our big guys that plays soft 99% of the time and has no idea how to screen a goalie.

Hands of stone so he can't play the puck.
Dmen have started to back off because the know he's fast. So he has zero offense.

Things I would not want to do right now: Trade Kreider unless we were reeeeeeeeeeeeally sure we would be fine without him. For all we know, if we trade him...he'd finally put it all together on a different team. Wouldn't want to deal with that...

Chris will be fine.

Josh Khalfin had a pretty good breakdown of Kreider's issues this season. Essentially, not having another shooter on his line is causing him to shoot from farther out, which makes him less effective.

Wow. How soon people forget what this guy did in the playoffs these past few years... I suggest you review. This guy is in a slump and you're killing him. All you rebuild people. ..haha ..all exposed.
You have zero patience for player development.

I'm not liking CKs game right now. Not sure why this is going on so long... imo, AV has a role here.

You trade a guy like this... he will come back and haunt you...deserving so.

This team has some tough decisions to make, trading Keiser shouldn't be one of them

AV needs to take control of the situation here. Kreider is due for a healthy scratch if he doesn't wake up soon. And by wake up, I don't even mean score a ton of goals, I mean just being an active, impact player on the ice.

its not a slump when your close to 30 games in....

its simple he turns it on in the playoffs, but that attitude wont cut in the regular season. he needs to show up every game

To be fair, we really shouldn't discount how effective he was early in last night's game. Miller made a great save in tight on him. He needs a bounce like that to go his way, and hopefully he'll start getting more. I've liked what I've seen from him these past two games, but there's still a lot of room for improvement.

Love the guy but there is no reason he shouldn't be demoted to the 4th line of scratched for a bit.

He strides hard 2-3 times a game and that's it. It goes a beyond a lack of production right now. He has never been a high motor player but this is particularly brutal to watch.

He doesn't know what "doing stuff" is when he is on the ice.

he has the hockey IQ of a squirrel.

Good point. Really is easy to forget how much a playoff beast Kreider is. Saved our sorry ***** multiple times.

If Rick Nash and everyone else has to perform during the regular season and the playoffs, then so does Kreider. That's a ******** excuse. The Rangers aren't magically making the playoffs without earning it. If they don't make the playoffs, Kreider can't perform in them. He needs to contribute consistently and be held to the same standard as everyone else.

Hayes, Miller, and Fast and have disappointed me this season because they haven't improved.

Kreider has disappointed me because he's regressed (Same argument can be made for Hayes). He was playing better when he first joined us in the playoffs right out of college than he is right now. I have yet to see such a big, strong, and fast player do so little consistently over a long amount of time.

Has Hayes regressed all that much though in comparison to Kreider? Would be interested to see a point comparison for both of these guys at this stage of the season compared to last year.

Kreider's drop off seems so much more severe than Hayes'.
