Duclair could be good on the 3rd line. Not the type of player you want with your skilled players. Everything he accomplishes he tends to do by himself. All tools no toolbox. Mikhail Grabovski type.
This is my concern with the Jets right now. With vilardi injured, we have some significant holes in our top-6 - arguably 2 holes. I don’t think Namestnikov & Iafallo (and Perfetti at this stage of his career) are top-6 wingers that gets you past a team like the Dallas Stars in a best-of-seven series. With vilardi back, it gets a bit better of course. But I think we’re still a winger short in our top-6.
I also don't mind iafallo in the top 6.
We bemoan the defensive ineptitude of the top 6, having guys up there that can keep up, dig out pucks and be a defensive conscience could be a solution.
I've always been an advocate of offensive pairs and since every coach we've ever had insists on keeping 81 and 55 together.
I was hoping Vilardi was that guy to stabilize the top line but I don't think he's been healthy enough yet to do it.
If we pair up our dynamic offensive forwards that's 3 legit lines that can score.
I dont think there's a chance that Bones does that unfortunately
I think Eberle would be a great add.
Another guy with lots of experience with some offensive ability.

I wonder if David Savard is on Chevy's radar. I seem to remember hearing the Jets wanted this player a few years ago but it didn't happen for whatever reason.

Has there been an update on vilardi. I’m really hoping he’s back soon. It’s a big hole.
And likely increase the urgency for trade deadline if he is more than day to day.
Big hole on the pp for sure, but 5 on 5 not so much.
Yup. He's struggled 5 on 5 the last bit which is surprising as he was excellent there for the Kings last year.
My guess is we get an update after morning skate today.

Not sure why we would want Seeler. Push Stanley down? Rather have Walker, at least he is a RHS.
Yeahbno interest in him. If we go for a RD I want an upgrad that can push Nate out of the lineup.
If Vilardi's health makes him doubtful, Toffoli might be a good option for a top-6 RW role.

That’s who I’m hoping for as well although I feel like the Jets end up with someone like Mantha.
He’s having a decent season, but I question his drive and grit to play playoff hockey. Also prefer a right shot which he is not, but he does play RW.
Apparently according to the Devils GM they aren't shopping him. But I take that with a grain of salt unless they are trying to reup him.
