I will never understand why you'd sign multiple UFAs with non-trivial price tags in 2023, then trade for Karlsson while fully aware that it will cause enormous cap problems sooner rather than later, suck for half a year, and then end up losing Guentzel as a result. Dubas really, really dropped the ball with the UFAs.

IMO Karlsson was the big booboo. Not that other moves were good. But he gave up assets and took on a huge salary. Karlsson has actually been pretty productive, but not enough to make Pens a PO team much less a contender.
