so question for those talent guys on here...if you could guarantee #1 OA ..which year...next year for Hagens or the following year for McKenna

McKenna, mainly because the kid feels automatic on some things and just makes things happen. However, you can't ignore how Hagens is doing so well right off the bat in college.

I'm not one of the talent guys, so grain of salt, but I would sooner get the pick this coming year for Hagens, because I don't trust them not to flip the switch and try to contend anyway, and the sooner we get a new stud in the door, the better odds are that they won't have flipped the switch into full contend mode and bring the guy along wrong like it felt like they were gonna do with Luchanko.

Jonesy: we are gonna compete for a playoff spot

Briere: we are moving in the right direction

Torts: the players need to play the right way, my way

Reality: dead last in the NHL on Nov 6th

Looking forward to seeing lots of empty seats when they come back home. The entire hockey ops dept can f*** off. I’m praying for a bottom 3 finish both this year and next because that is the only way that enough heads might roll to actually make some real changes!

On Tankathon they have the Flyers picking

#1 Hagens (C)
#11 Charlie Trethewey (RD)
#14 Jakob Ihs-Wozniak (F)

What's the read on those other two picks?

The mock draft also has Caleb Desnoyers going at 10th. I'm guessing he's Elliot's brother? Born in the same QC town, and both playing for Moncton WIldcats. Anyway, Caleb seems to have way more high end potential than Elliot.

Might have gotten a season ticket holder boost when Michkov came over but they sure as shit sent going to get a single game boost.

The start to the season probably couldn’t have gone worse there.

Obviously not going to recoup the original value (thanks Chuck!), but how're we feeling about getting a 1st or 2nd or more for Risto? Seems like it’ll be a seller’s market for defensemen at the TDL. Big guy who has a decent defensive game and has shown some improvement and switched his game a bit since he first got here - I’m sure there’s a GM still salivating at the thought, especially if there’s retention. Chiarot got a 1st a few years back and I think he’s much worse.

Huge plus if we can finally see playoff Risto.

Of course "they want to compete for a PO spot."
You tell your players they suck and there's no point trying?

But I don't think Briere is that upset with the start, more with the players, and if some don't turn it around they may be ex-Flyers. But being out of the playoffs makes Briere's life easier at the TDL and next summer.

Laughton and Risto have upped their value.
