For a second there i thought u were talking about who the Lakers might end up with this year lol

They did draft Tom Glavine before Robitaille!

Don't worry guys, I drafted us Luke Green in a mock ;)

Was contemplating Sean Day because hey why the hell not swing for the fences

(and don't let it wreck you that the name is some sort of hybrid of Luke Schenn and Matt Greene)

when i was looking for players around our pick hes the the name i come up with as well so great minds think alike lol

I don't care if they swing for the fences, go for BPA, draft for an area of need, go for a flight risk kid or pick some kid with a weird name, as long as they choose someone good :)

Not really a huge issue this year. Don't waste a pick if there isn't a good one there. The Kings have Quick, and Budaj. The real need is another guy like Jack Flinn that can push Flinn in Ontario, but someone that has a few years of experience (think the 22-26 age range.) Plenty of RFA and UFA goalies out there to look at to fill in as a stopgap before the Kings can find a new goalie of the future.

Exactly - this draft class being light on goalies means nothing. There are TONS of goalies available. Kings should have no problem whatsoever getting someone in the system in that 22-26 yr old range.

Just consider the (likely) starters that will be looking for a new team next year along with the prospects that are moving into new #1 jobs. Reimer will be available. I'd imagine MA Fleury will be available. Wouldn't surprise me to see TB move a goalie.

I'm not the least bit worried about getting a goalie this offseason.

me neither you do not need to draft AHL talent. Hell Jones was undrafted.

I miss the old draft parties. Attended a couple of them at the Forum when the kings selected Craig Duncanson and Danny Gratton one year, and Craig Redmond another year. I went with a friend and told him, before the Kings traded the 3rd overall pick for the 6th pick, that they the Kings would be okay as long as they didn't selected the smallish Redmond guy. Shane Corson was selected next by Montreal. :shakehead

But still, I miss seeing the Cup raised by Brownie way more :D

Don't see big move. I would go right D. Here's a name (pure guess): Jacob Cederholm, captain of Swedish U18.

I ask who he thought we would draft at 51 Any comments?

I really do not know. I just hope that LA drafts BPA and not a RHD just because they are a RHD. The chances of the 51st pick playing over 200 games in the NHL is slim enough, plus whomever they pick will not be ready for 2-3 years at which point we will likely have different holes than we current have

with the asking price of a top 4 rhd being so high i honestly don't see it going down that much in 2 3 hell even 10 years. It will be a need in that long as i don't really see any for sure ones coming in. Defense is what we should be getting with our top pick

I agree. But the good news is there are a slew of RHD available at that point. So it may not be the case of reaching just to fill a need

Go with BPA. I hope they add Dwight King or Clifford with the 52nd and move up. RHD? After LHD Gravel, the top 2 defensemen coming up in the system are Ladue and Cernak, both RHD. They both have top 4 upside. They could use a top 4 RHD now, but I would not worry about drafting one.

Racoon Jesus cries quietly seeing Cam Dineen go at 41

No real need to pray but yes, the Kings do need a goalie. Their prospects not in the pro system right now are not pretty. Alec Dillon is the only goalie not in the pro system and he's not looking too hot right now.

It's important to look ahead and think about goalie development. Signing Jack Flinn was smart. He's an overager in the same vein as Landon Bow. He's a big goalie who showed a little promise. With the way the the Kings goalie depth is right now, the Kings could afford to bring in Flinn. Now though is the time to draft a proper goalie prospect that can step into the pro system in two years or so and begin their own development.

As for bringing in someone to push Flinn I'd look at Sami Aittokallio. Avalanche prospect that jetted off to Finland last season. He'll come back if Budaj is the NHL Back-Up and his only competition is Jack Flinn in the AHL. I'd even put Flinn in the ECHL to start the season and let him transition properly to pro such as what should/will happen with Landon Bow over in the Stars organization.
