Racoon Jesus cries quietly seeing Cam Dineen go at 41

There's nothing quiet about it

Go with BPA. I hope they add Dwight King or Clifford with the 52nd and move up. RHD? After LHD Gravel, the top 2 defensemen coming up in the system are Ladue and Cernak, both RHD. They both have top 4 upside. They could use a top 4 RHD now, but I would not worry about drafting one.

No, I agree. Just suggesting that we wouldn't have to go out of our way to do it. I agree at this time BPA is absolutely in our best interests (not that it isn't always imo)

Yeah our prospect system is thin so I think we should go BPA.

Cheers.

I wonder if Dean will trade for more picks.......

I practically guarantee he will, especially moving minor league defensemen.

They may not be high picks, but I can't imagine a world where we don't get more volume and then package one or two to move up

Kings will be open for business come Wedneaday night. Looking to add picks this year. #confirmed
-----------------
Would imagine the players topping the list will be Clifford and/or King, among others.

I wonder if Dwight King could get us a 2nd.....

Worth it? It's not as if he's going to be protected in next year's expansion draft, anyway....

Seems just like yesterday that Doughty vs Bogosian was a thing. Part of me wants to dig up the post where somebody wanted to take Bogosian since they could have marketed him to the Armenian community.

A few trade threads some fan bases seem to have no issue giving him a 2nd. I would do it. I like King but we need to open up roster space for Mersch and others, and think King owuld get more than a Clifford.

"The Emperor is most displeased with your apparent lack of progress."

He was so round. Donuts.

Do you want to take a (Cliff) Pu?

Only if Bob Miller can say, "Pu, Pu, Pu, Cliffy Pu!"

Seems like other scouting services have him ranked all over the place, mostly have him in the 3rd round. His regular season stats haven't been remarkable but he reached another gear during the playoffs.

Adam Fox and Luke Green are dmen with great potential, and Vitali Abramov looks like he could fit in. He doesn't even have to change uniforms.

Pu will be an interesting guy to track. He was low on the depth chart to start the season but worked his way up to #2 center. If anybody watched the Memorial Cup, London's top line (Marner-Dvorak-Tkachuk) basically monopolized the power play time.

With Marner and Dvorak (outside chance Tkachuk) set to graduate to the pros this season, Pu will be in line to inherit more ice time. I mentioned Pu as a possible pick for the Devils at #41, but most of the posters are too hung up on his lack of production this year.

But if you're ever looking for a sleeper, finding an underused guy on a deep Memorial Cup contender is sometimes the way to go:

Granted, Dvorak was more highly touted before his draft year (to Pu) but he found himself stuck on a deep team during his rookie year before breaking out.

Dahlen is an interesting name. His dad was a decent winger.

Agreed with Dahlen.

If LA is able to get a 2nd 2nd round pick I would be ok with taking Sean Day. He is a high risk high reward pick. Was given exemption status as a 15 year old but has not lived up to the hype. Big part of that is conditioning issues, but could be well worth the gamble.

I could see a team with a ton of picks gamble on him early. He could also be the next Nick Ebert.

I was thinking that too. In every mock I do, I just can't justify jumping him up to our only 2nd, but if we got an additional pick, I'd be all for it.
