The one move that has me worried but wouldn't shock me is DL resigning King. Just typing this gave me acid reflux. Not sure I'd be able to drink that pain away.

Unless Vegas takes Gaborik, Brown, or Lewis, I don't think the Kings will have the cap space to re-sign King even if they put Greene on LTIR. They're only going to have around $13-15 million in cap space and Toffoli/Pearson will take up around $10 million of that.

If you're trading Carter, you trade Martinez and maybe even Quick as well, because you're rebuilding at that point. Centers are at a premium right now though, might be a while until we find a good second line center again.

I'd personally be sad, but something has got to give with this team. Trading a core player may wake some people up. I'm not even talking about Kopitar, who i think is doing the best he can with what he has to work with. I'm talking Toffoli, Muzzin, Martinez, Gaborik etc.

Also, I want to be positive a little for a change.

LaDue looks really good so far for a rookie. I'm excited to see him have a full season.

Kempe is so skilled. I hope things click for him soonish, like with Pearson and Toffoli.

and if we miss playoffs this year, we can have a high draft pick which is nice.

It doesn't matter what your roster is, or who is in it, if this continues:

Kopitar has 3G in his last 29 NHL games, 2 of them are at ES.

Dwight King has 4G in his last 29 NHL games all at ES.

Kyle Clifford has 3G in his last 29 NHL games all at ES

Jordan Nolan 4G in his last 29 NHL games all at ES

Dwight King will have priced himself out of LA.

He would have to take a discount to stay, he most likely won't

Dean Lombardi at recent contract signings?

They should clean out the roster if they lose to Colorado. Become sellers this season.

For sure. I know there are still games to be played, but losing today will be the final nail in the coffin. If they can't beat Colorado at this crucial juncture, they don't deserve to make the playoffs, as it was the case in 2015.

The best thing to do is to trade players that still have some value, but are not crucial to the Kings long-term plan. Guys like King and Lewis come to mind. No one is touching Brown, Gaborik, or Clifford, and the other bottom sixers are already signed dirt cheap so no need to sell them.

Muzzin is younger and has anchored a pairing, something Martinez has never done

The year that Muzzin proved he could "anchor" a pairing was last year when he was paired with Martinez... And hes only a year younger and plays a heavier game, so in terms of body wear thats a wash. They are equal, the main difference is Muzzin is a 4th defenseman that everyone seems to think is a 2nd and Martinez is a 4th defenseman that everyone seems to think is a 6th.

More like Martinez is a 4th d-man that everyone seems to think is a 2/3.

If Rob Blake gets the GM spot over Futa, I will eat my shirt. I'd also expect Futa to move on. If that happens, I'll eat my shoe.

DL needs an extension, Futa needs to be his second in command, and when DL goes, it better damned be Futa who takes his spot. Not a figure head like Blake.

We have a lot of young talent (bad contracts aside -- and this is specifically in regards to Gabby and Brown -- I also don't begrudge any of the the trades from Dean as he attacked our window), and this talent is a product of our top player-personnel men.

I've never seen so much hand-wringing. Never. Hockey is the very definition of "what have you done for me lately."

You want praise you need to take criticism, Lombardi let his emotions get away with his decision making and as a result he F'd up.

Richards should of been bought out, but because we just won a cup, emotionally he could not do it. Buy out Richards sign Williams with that extra cash. Justin Williams who arguably was the glue of the LA Kings.

Gaborik had a hot streak in the playoff's, and because we just won the cup, emotions got in the way again sign him to a stupid deal.

The Brown deal was about payment for the past not the future, fine if you are going to do that, then you best be careful how you manage things going forward.

This is in now way shape or form taking away from the cups, but if you let emotions get in the way of business decisions most will not end well.

Since 2014 almost every decision he made has been extremely bad. We are just lucky that Edmonton threw stupid money at Lucic, or we would be facing yet another bad contract. Sports is all about the now and the future, the now sucks, and the future is not bright.

Dude needs to go.

Welcome to professional sports.

No, Ziggy. I was being specific. Ozzie Newsome, for example, has been with the Ravens since '96, right after the debacle of Belichick's Browns.

I know professional sports, my friend. Hockey is the definition of my aforementioned statement. Very fickle. Very sensitive and emotional bunch we are, as a collective.

We promote Blake to GM, then I'll be *****'ing along with the rest of the fray.

The Kings need to stop screwing around with this decision and make Futa the GM effective after the season is over.

Dean was/is a culture changer and should remain in the organization.

Never, ever let Luc Robitaille be involved in hockey operations. Loved him as a player, but I know he would run things as a good ol' boy club with all of his buddies.

I mentioned Brown and Gabby as being DL's biggest mistakes. Reread my post. Please don't repeat my original point.

Hindsite is 20/20, per Lucic et al. What of the young talent on the roster and in the pipeline?
