What are Muzzin's and Martinez's +/- when they play together as a pairing versus apart? I'm also curious how much of Muzzins drop off is no longer playing with Doughty.
Imperfect stat and all that, but damn that -17 from Muzzin isn't good. Martinez at -15. No other defensemen that have played a decent amount of games are in negative territory. Mostly on the road too, where one or both seems to be on the ice for every goal against, with little to no counter-balance. Muzzin has 5 points on the road this year, but 20 in each of the last 2 seasons. He looks like he's lugging a 50 pound rock while he's skating this year. If he's not hurt, then I don't know what. His leg, lower back, something. So often it's slow motion with him.
Muzzin and Martinez were supposed to be two of the givens on the team. Plenty of other questions heading into the season, but those two weren't seen as being in that category. Sucks because Forbort has come in and done pretty well, but that's canceled out by Muzzin and Martinez struggling. If it's not one thing it's another with the team this year.
Wonder if the hammer will drop if this team loses to Colorado tomorrow.
I know it's going to sound ridiculous.
But the right move is trading Carter this summer. I know, he has been unreal for the Kings this season, and has been a legit Top 10 player in the NHL. But he is on the wrong side of 30, he has an amazing contract that increases his value and his overall value is never going to be higher.
The Kings days of contending are over, and by the time they are back Carter is going to well past his prime, strike now and get a blue chip prospect and a good NHL'er under 25.
Forgot to even include the fact that he has 2 SC rings and an Olympic Gold. Carter's value this summer would be through the roof.

I've been saying this all season.I know it's going to sound ridiculous.

An extremely, extremely difficult move for anyone to make, but I think the time would be right.
I think Voynov is on a 10 year entry ban. This can be waived if he chooses to go that route.
Some interesting things by the mayor yesterday on NHL radio. He thinks that come next season Lombari will not be the GM as his contract is up and that Rob Blake will take over. Talks about possible deal with Avs that they talked about Martinez, Kempe and a 2nd for Landeskog. Also he said in the summer don't be surprised if you here about Voynov possibly coming back to the Kings.
Very interesting stuff.

Whoa that's some pretty wild news. As much as I've been critical of DL, I would not want to see Blake take his place, I don't trust when players become GM's (Colorado and Tampa).

he self deported on a plea deal so that negates most (if not all) of those restrictions. he should only have to go through the regular work visa channels if he was never officially a felon due to his plea... (not sure about Canada since you can be denied entry on even misdemeanor charges) but for all intents and purposes he could be technically brought back IF the NHL owners waived him through and NHLPA allowed the reinstatement of his contract (which is in limbo and not currently terminated) but after the wold cup fiasco it will never happen... it is an interesting idea though.

Voynov coming back is intriguing. IF that has a strong chance, Id be open to making the most of both Muzzin and Martinez is potential trades.
I know he gets a lot of hate, but i dont want to lose Lewis. Id rather lose Dowd.
Can we please trade King and make something of him? How about Clifford for anything? Nolan as well.
Brodz, Kempe and Mersch to end the year would look good up to me.
