Coming in late to this thread… how the f*** are there 20 pages?

Stutzle has 1 elite season (this current one), Matthews has pretty much been elite since the day he stepped into the league.

Yes, they may be pretty close to having equal seasons this year, and yes, they Matthews is gonna have a way more pricey contract… but at this point Matthews has shown a peak that is miles ahead of any “known” by Stutzle, and it’s pretty clear Matthews is having a bit of a down year for his standards.

The safe bet is assuming Matthews gets back to where he was, which is still significantly better than Stutzle who is performing like 50% better this year than any previous year in his career

So?

Peak Matthews isn't worth ~50% than current Stutzle, and Stutzle could still improve. Why is that so hard to understand?

Mattews is having an off-year, and I fully expect him to get close to 50 goals and 100 points again net year, but that's really not THAT much better than current Timmy. Not for the salary difference anyways.

Another day...and yes no one is trading TS for AM34 still....your trophy aspirations were brought up multiple times with no valid backing other than a wish to stay wishful....the literal poll is does TS have more value than AM...NO..why...cause matthews has a hart and rockets and will have more soon and while TS is good he won't...there is simply no easier way to explain this to you ...in French maybe ??
Lmao, just being obtuse now.
Jerk bait how appropriate is that.

I don’t have a list of 7 who are better. Just McDavid

Whats's the justification for putting a forward who curently sits 23rd in points, as high as 2nd best in the NHL?

I understand he won the Hart last year, but does that mean you also thought Taylor Hall was the 2nd best player in the world in 2019?

Best season before winning Hart: 80pts in 75 games
Hall's Hart season: 15pts behind McDavid
Following year: Injured and 0.53 points per game behind league leader (Kucherov)

Best season before winning Hart: 80pts in 70 games
Matthews Hart season: 17pts behind McDavid
Follwoing year: Injured and 0.75 points per game behind league leader (McD)

So you still haven't addressed the 1 question I asked. I'm still not sure if you're purposely playing stupid or if you just came into the middle of something and are confused and just decided to flip a side and pick a coin.

"Does Craig button poster ever vote for Ottawa in any poll ever?"

Do you have an answer to that? No? Then why are you quoting me to create strawman?

Do you always just love to create men out of straw? What a strange, strange post from you.
i dont stalk posters like that. its creepy

Why would it take stalking someone to notice they always vote against sens players? Not everyone is oblivious to their surroundings.

Have you ever seen Craig button vote for the sens player? If you don't have an opinion, why do you keep quoting me lol

you'd have to be looking for it over and over again. its creepy

You could have it made easier by answering the question or saying not interested in answering, as opposed to dodging for 12 posts. Would of made all us happier.
it's off topic and weird.

it's off topic and weird.

So why do you keep participating in this specific conversation if you find it weird and creepy and off topic?

I'm wondering if Craig button who claims to be a sens fan has ever voted for a sens player in a poll. Without stalking anyone, I've noticed him always very active in talking against the sens.

Have you noticed the same? No? Cool. So why do you keep sharing your opinion to claim you don't have an opinion or answer to the question.

Why keep quoting me to tell me my question is weird. Cool. I'm still wondering if Craig button has ever voted for a sens player.

you keep replying over and over again

you're obsessed

So does Craig button ever vote for the sens player or not?

Does that make you obsessed for always quoting me?

Does the fact you always try to defend the poster craigbutton mean you're obsessed with him?

I’ve been on HFBoards for over 20 years total and I can confidently say this thread is one of the top 10 worst threads filled with terrible takes.

Stutzle does not hold a fking candle to Matthews, and never will. Matthews plays injured for half a season and all of a sudden Stutzle is comparable? Embarrassing.

I’d love to see your list of 7 players better than Matthews.
Don’t even entertain that.

The question itself seems to have gone over your head.

Austyn Maphews is awesome, but a long term pay raise of over $11M per yr might be too high a % of salary cap to ice a competitive team around him. If the cap goes up, Austine Maythews value goes up. If it stays flat, there's an argument for Stützle.

I’d say you’re more obsessed with me than him to be honest.

Seems like a really dumb argument to be having over the public boards anyway, why is this argument worth so much of your time?

Seems like you should take a breath and move on.

Matthews is the better player, simple as that. He is a generational Goal scorer and already has hardware I’m not sure Stützle ever touches.

Matthews has been injured all season, he confirmed it himself.

Leaving out games played to suit your narrative I see.

Matthews' second-best season was 52GP 41G 25A 66P (82GP 65G 39A 104P)... not a bad season.

Absolutely correct ...the golden novice is a hometown predict artist with no victories yet....
Matthews is the better player and will no doubt win more rockets . TIM never touches the rocket hart or art Ross as Ling as mcdavid leon marner Matthews DP, Kucherov, makar, Tage, rant, are still playing .

Entertaining with all leaf fans getting upset.
Yeah, we are real upset with the multiple Rocket Richards Matthews has won. 50 goals in 50 games. Hart winner, Ted Lindsay… yeah real upset.

McDavid has just had a 1 off fluky season. Nothing more. He will never win another Rocket.

That’s quite asinine

After 1st 3 seasons

Matthews
212 GP, 111 G, 94 A, 205 P

Stutzle
201 GP, 69 G, 99 A, 168 P

Clear advantage to Matthews. Matthews did however come into the league far more physically developed so let’s look specifically at their 3rd seasons.

Matthews
68 GP, 37 G, 36 A, 73 P

Stutzle
69 GP, 35 G, 46 A, 81 P

Seems like a small advantage to Stutzle.

Now for the best part as a Sens fan.

Post ELC contract

Matthews 5 x 11,640,250.00
Stutzle 8 x 8,350,00.00

Massive advantage for the Sens.

Really the perception of Matthews is skewed by his one outstanding season out of 7.
