Coming in late to this thread… how the f*** are there 20 pages?
Stutzle has 1 elite season (this current one), Matthews has pretty much been elite since the day he stepped into the league.
Yes, they may be pretty close to having equal seasons this year, and yes, they Matthews is gonna have a way more pricey contract… but at this point Matthews has shown a peak that is miles ahead of any “known” by Stutzle, and it’s pretty clear Matthews is having a bit of a down year for his standards.
The safe bet is assuming Matthews gets back to where he was, which is still significantly better than Stutzle who is performing like 50% better this year than any previous year in his career
So?
Peak Matthews isn't worth ~50% than current Stutzle, and Stutzle could still improve. Why is that so hard to understand?
Mattews is having an off-year, and I fully expect him to get close to 50 goals and 100 points again net year, but that's really not THAT much better than current Timmy. Not for the salary difference anyways.
