1. TS is a good player and will probably improve.
2. Mcdavid will win the Hart this year.
3. Matthews is the back to back rocket champ .
4. Both mcdvaid and Matthews are still in their prime.
4. There is another Connor coming just as good
5. DP Tage rant leon are better at better scorers than TS.
6. Logic tells us for him to win either he would need to displace all of the mentioned players.
7. That isn't happening and my guarantee will happen . My last guarantee was tampa would not win 3 straight. Bingo...before that it was makar would win the norris bingo...I didn't call you dumb but your hometown baseless ridiculous prediction is and dubas still isn't trading Matthews

This is the type of thread that gives HFboards a bad rap. Stutzle is an awesome young player. He’s going to have a long career as a top line player. But Matthews is a franchise player that you might not get on your team for generations. You make this trade 100/100 times in your sleep.

well thats fine if its your opinion I cant hate on that. but Matthews still deserved those trophies saying he doesnt at all just sounds biased. not easy to beat what McDavid did and if it wasnt for 50 goals in 50 games and hitting 60 goals. I dont think he would have gotten them

Best case scenario imho Matthews extends 13.34 x 8. Could go as high as 15.34 if he threatens to test the market, or he could sign a series of short term to deals to align his contracts with cap increases, or worst case he walks as a ufa.

Let’s just assume he decides to accept 13.34 x 8. Now keep in mind he’d be aged 27 - 35 for that contract while Stutzle will be aged 22 - 30 on his 8 year deal, making 5 million less. At some point In that time period, there is a very strong likelihood that a still developing Stutzle equals or betters a declining Matthews. He doesn’t need to even be better though since he’s costing 5 million less. And at the end of these contracts, Stutzle will only be 30 and have more good years left in him. If Matthews wants to maximize his contract even more then the choice becomes even more obvious.
