I think Korpi had a good game.......played great with Tukonen whom as i mentioned should be player of the game today.
J J for the americans

THANK YOU! :joker:

Hey, just to comment on something, you've been one of the really cool people through all this bs. Just wanted to say that.

I think it's great that a team who actually wants to win the bronze won it. Had one of the Big Three won the bronze it would merely be a consolation prize, but Finland WANTED the bronze.

On the booing, if these kids can't take, they might as well pack it in, because if you're an athlete at an elite level, it's going to happen. It happens in every team sport, and there's nothing "classless" about it. If you think that's the case, I guaruntee whatever team you support, has booed someone before.

Vancouver is a joke, they’re just a wannabe big league sports town and most of the people there don’t even know anything about hockey. No class, no respect, it’s ****ing embarrassing being from this province with these people representing us.

Can I make a suggestion: MOVE if you dont like it.....

How was Rask?
Rask was good.I've noticed a tendency to keep the puck in play rather than hold it for a faceoff.I'm not sure if thats the way he's been told to play or whether its his judgement but it seems dangerous. One time in this game it directly resulted in a Finn taking a penalty to prevent an American player from getting a freshly released puck. He's definately a solid prospect and in time will make the mental adjustments needed to match his skill.

Do people realize that the Canadian fans were doing all of this crap BEFORE the Jack Johnson elbow. It's not a result of that play at all.

They've been doing it long before that. I've been to most games in the past two WJC's in Finland and even if canada wasn't playing they were booing players. It has really made me change my opinion of canadian "hockey fans". There's no respect for the opponent or the game, it's all about winning by any means. To me that is not really being a hockey fan, but more compareable to the soccer hooligans here in Europe.

this doesn't mean that I consider all canadians to be like this, but the it's the ones that you notice. It's really sad that they hurt the overall picture of a hockeyfans in canada.

those people who call BC Morons for booing the americans should be ashamed of themselves. 1) Its a rivalary, 2) if its politically driven then they have the right, how would you like it if your job was taken away due to illegal american actions that has been condemned by numerous courts but the States refuse to acknowledge it? The only reason why the BC Economy hasnt crashed and burned is because of the Olympics and the spin offs it has created.

Big congrats to the Fins. Quickly becoming my second favourite (distant second.... heh) team in international hockey.

I can understand young kids getting embarrased and losing control of their emotions which can lead to questionable actions. My problem is that the Americans haven't played with any emotion all tournament so why try to make a statement late. At least lose with some class.

I couldn't agree with you more. The supposed name players have acted spoiled and selfish throughout the tournament. Their heads have yet to catch up with their bodies.

I mentioned in another thread...I hope the US learns from this.

I agree 100%. Finland deserved the bronze. Definite thumbs up to Finland's effort in this tourney.

Van booing Edm or Cal i cant except.........this was Van booing the USA as a nation and it is out of line.

I am wondering how people on this board know for a fact that the crowd is booing the United States of America and not the U.S. hockey team? As far as I know the fans predominately booed Jack Johnson and chanted "US Sux". Should they have said, "The American hockey team in this World Junior Under 20 Championship Sux?"

It might be just me but doesn't have the same ring to it.

Im a Vancouverite. Because of that am a moron or classless?

I am not thrilled with the way SOME FANS acted. But remember the people booing were just a SMALL number of people.

You people stereotyping everyone in BC and Vancouver and saying we dont deserve the Olympics sicken me. Quite being so obtuse. Because a small segment of people booed at a hockey game you label everyone there... dispicable

note also, they never booed the national anthem... THAT would have been classless

I'm sure Vancouver is pissed.

I'm also sure that Phil Kessel, Jack Skille, Rob Schremp, Bob Ryan, TJ Oshie, Peter Mueller, Jack Johnson and rest of the American junior national team is 100% responsible for the soft lumber issue.

And you think people don't know this? Please.

But people are frustrated, right now the issue is bigger than anything else in BC, it's certainly not going to ENDEAR the US team to anyone here.

I don't care if people think they're teens either. They're also adults. People who can vote, go to war. They can handle beeing cheered against in a hockey game, they've dealt with it in their CHL and NCAA teams too, I'm sure.

Anyone having the goals (at least Finnish) as mpg or any other formation, I would like to have them in my collection...

And by the way, the best hockey player originally from my real hometown (until my son grows up :)) got the medal too, though Juha Vuori was only an assistant coach...

I never said I disagreed with BC's stance on the issue. If you want to talk politics, PM me and you'd be suprised on what you hear.

Anyways, this is way off topic (my post too, not just yours), and I will not discuss it further.

Let's talk about how Finland outplayed the Americans because they outworked and outclassed them. I'm ashamed of this team. Period.

I think we both know that the fans are not cursing at Kessel, Skille, Schremp, Ryan, Oshie or Mueller.
They are cursing at the flag on the front of their jerseys; and no, I'm not suggesting it is the appropriate way to protest an international disagreement, just trying to give your insight on the B.C. mindset.
Johnson, of course, is a different story.

Most Canadians were cheering for USA before the Jack Johnson cheap shot. Dont blame Vancouver for thier response. USA started crap against Russia and now an obvious cheap shot when the Yanks were losing again. See a trend - I do, it's called poor sportsmanship (we cant win, so I'm going to hurt you) from the USA players.

Normally I might root for the yank's, but this trend goes back years and years and I for one am sick of it.

Canadians dont have a responsability to cheer USA, wether it be political or not. Fact is: I like the Canada/Russia rivalry more than the Canada/USA rivalry anyway. I have that right - don't I?

P.S - While all you people complain about booing J.J - remember how ALL of you have treated Bertuzzi - for the last 2 years.
