I'm a girl, but you're very welcome. :)

Yeah right, the finals lol. I'll just be happy if my teams makes it INTO the playoffs lol.

Hey, don't discount the Rangers. I like what I see of them. Team plays with a lot of heart.

Of course, you New York City fans will jump on any moderately successful sports team in the area and pollute the nation's airwaves with your media trash! :sarcasm: :snide:

I don't blame Walt Kyle for what has happened the ... fan in me).

good post :)

The frustration for the US I think is heightened because they've had success at other internation events. The WJC's, outside of 2 years ago, do seem to give the US trouble.

For Finland, this was a very big deal. Few expected them to be at this point, especially after the tournament opener against Canada, when Canada dominated them. Winning bronze is a very good accomplishment for them, especially considering they were without probably their best forward, Nokalleinen.
Nokelainen.

Still - it`s great to win bronze medal, but it`s not like Finns haven`t done that before. Team Finland has won three bronzemedals in five years. 2005, 2003, 2002 bronze, 2001 silver.

What I did think was hilarious was earlier in the tourney when the fans booed someone because the person was from Toronto :biglaugh:

That, along with the sarcastic Johnson wave to the crowd were the highlights of the tourney for me. I think the Toronto guy got even bigger boos than Johnson. :yo:

I do have to give the US team props. Even though they've made some hotheaded plays on the ice, they never once said anything negative about the fans. Maybe we should all take their example and not talk about it, heh.

The US will be a scary team to play against last year, 11 players returning. I think it would serve themselves better if they instilled a more underdog mentality next year to avoid the pressure. The tourney being out of North America should help too.

Not only the US, but a good number of teams... It will be a great tournament next year

I went to the Rangers - Canucks game in NY a few weeks ago and a Vancouver fan was sitting in his seat with the Canadian flag draped over his body and he was waving it around everywhere he went. I didn't know the Rangers were playing Canada that night...am I missing something here. :shakehead

Uhhh, this happens all the time at hockey games. Canadians associate hockey with the country of Canada, not just their own team.

That Toronto thing was the tops, lol. The more I see it, the more I realize that the Leafs are Canada's version of the Yankees...worshipped incessantly and without fail by their fanatic following, and burned in effigy outside of Southern Ontario. :D

Imagine if the Canucks played the Leafs more regularly...It seems 2,000 miles is all that separates the cities of Toronto and Vancouver, yet according to the NHL scheduling (which I could write a freaking book about), it appears that Toronto is as close as Djibouti.

Yeah what's up over there in Vancouverland; it's just an obvious show of animosity towards Americans in my opinion. On another note - I went to the Rangers - Canucks game in NY a few weeks ago and a Vancouver fan was sitting in his seat with the Canadian flag draped over his body and he was waving it around everywhere he went. My University basketball team went to the U.S. to play some exhibition games against some D-1 teams (Duke and Connecticut among others) and in all the games the crowd yelled the "USA USA USA" chant. So its not that different in the states either...

Can someone tell me what happened to Mueller?
Give me a summary, please. :)

-Korpikoski had the puck (in the neutral zone)
-Korpikoski passed the puck
-Mueller came with speed, I'm not sure if it was an elbow or a shoulder, but he checked Korpikoski to the head on open ice and dropped him.

German junior teams get that treatment almost every time they go to Poland, Austria or the Netherlands. I don't care, if they wanna boo let them boo, makes winning so much better in the end.

I'll kindly ask you not to give Bettman any more expansion ideas.

What's amazing is that this reception in Vancouver, or anywhere else in this country, pales in comparison to certain European or South American soccer(football?) rivalries, as I'm sure you know. Now those games are wars.

C'mon Dogbert, you know I'll try to move the Flames to Djibouti and change their name from "Flames" into something that involves that awesome clicking tongue sound that I wish was incorporated into the English language :D

Well i think that stems from another bad era for the germans back in the 40s can you blame them?

Oiler fans eat babies

Sorry, bandwagon anti-semetic remark effect.

I love how a bunch of Oilers-Flames fans on this board have avatars that have a fan of one team urinating on the other, or something to that effect :biglaugh:

Oh I'm definitely not, but considering how bad they've been the past few years just them making the playoffs would make me happy. Anything after that is pretty much gravy.

You know what's sad? The Rangers are a good team for the first time in years, yet all people continue to talk about is the Knicks. Something is wrong with that picture lol. I hate that damn team lol.

Guess what player had the most points for team USA after the Norway game?

Everyones favorite whipping boy, Bobby Ryan, despite mediocre ice time.

I am very disappointed in this team..not even winning a medal with this talent? what gives?

Everyone seems to say it was Team Chemistry, or the lack thereof.

I don't think that was the only reason though.

Yeah, and Schremp tied Kessel for the most shots despite also getting the shaft IMO. There were too many cancers on this team, whether it was players and coaches, or just one or the other. This team couldn't break up fast enough IMO.

I think Schremp really fit his MO. He had some individual flash and dash, and showed how rediculously talented he is, but I don't think he showed how he could make his team better.

Saying that, credit Schremp to his skating, his skating looks a lot better. He's alot more coordinated and stronger on his edges, which will be a huge bonus that most prospects don't have (and even some NHL players don't have) but the biggest question for me is, and has alwayas been, what can he do for a TEAM? Yes he did it with a stacked London team, but I'd like to see what he can do when he is "the man" and asked to lead his team.
