Not many teams will touch unless he gets vaccinated
Only guy in the league.. He's also the ugliest dude in pro hockeyWhy, cause he doesn't agree with the vax thing? Give me a break!
While a prospect who can become 2C is a big need, the Wings have many of the pieces to build an elite D. The future on the left-side looks strong (Edvinsson, Wallinder, Johansson, Sebrango, McIsaac). The right side doesn't have nearly the potential. Also, there isn't any veteran presence.
If Detroit is serious about moving Bertuzzi, improving the current and future right-side of the D makes perfect sense.
The ask from LA should be Roy and Clarke, though Roy and Faber might work. Roy is a near ideal partner for Edvinsson his first 2-3 seasons. Clarke/Faber would make Detroit's top 4 league best in 3-4 years.
Yzerman has a track record of acquiring young D when trading. So the ask from LA should be for the Kings to share some of the wealth of RHD in their system.
A physical near PPG winger is pretty much EXACTLY what the Leafs need. He can score and play physical, unlike basically their entire forward core. He’s also known as a big playoff player (again, unlike the entire Leafs forward core). The Wings would also never accept this deal.
Might want to check his playoff history in the past, AHL specifically . He’s consistently produced above his regular season. His game clearly translates wellTyler Bertuzzi is known as a big playoff player?
Has he ever played in the playoffs, even once?
This is blatantly false, Come next fall there wont be any vaccine mandates in Canada. And life should be back to normal.
I also agree Leaf’s would have to probably add something as well. We are in win now mode and I would absolutely sacrifice prospects and draft picks to get a guy like Bertuzi. Not sure why that guy was so against it I wouldn’t even consider Abramov as a top prospect like he does.A physical near PPG winger is pretty much EXACTLY what the Leafs need. FWIW Beruzzi has already had Covid, So he now has as much immunity against it. Then if he got vaxxed.Should all the non Vax people be dead by now?
Yes they all received pretty similar packages. Also not one of the players you just mentioned were PPG and very physical like Bert, also around $2M for 1.5 seasons. You’re out to lunch in this one
You said even assuming if teams consider Bertuzzi a PPG winger he won’t return what Mantha did.Hall was one season removed from winning the Hart with multiple PPG+ seasons, Buchnevich had 48 pts in 54 games. Bertuzzi's previous career high was 48 points, no team is going to consider him a bonafide PPG winger.
The rumor is a larger package than Mantha and had zero mention of any retention. I will concede there is a slight possibility Bertuzzi returns more if he gets traded with 50% retention at this trade deadline so a team can have him for two cup runs. Outside of that scenario though, he won't return more than Mantha.
You realize how big of a package you got for Mantha, right? You also realize that JT Miller is also available who is a better and more versatile forward that Bertuzzi, and he most likely won't even return what Mantha did.

Hall was two years removed from winning the Hart and a UFA to be. Bertuzzi is not.
So Debrusk who's worse then Bertuzzi, Plus a 1st round pick currently around #22 and a LD prospect that we've in spades for Tyler Bertuzzi. And ask yourself why Steve Yzerman would accept this?Debrusk + 1st + mason lohrei
First of all the 2nd was to take Panik and his 2.5M for two years.Sorry two seasons, with his previous season still being a PPG+ player prior to the trade.
When was the last time a winger of Bertuzzi's caliber returned a young 50+ pt player + 1st + 2nd, let alone more?

Bertuzzi doesn't have nearly the same allure as Mantha did.
Doesn't hurt to shop him, but I would bet good money Bertuzzi doesn't receive close to what Mantha brought back if he is traded.
For this season that's correct, But Covid is waning and it wont be like that next season.because he cant play in canada

Players are traded for a 1st + top prospect all the time. Just depends what you value Vrana at.
Finally, when was the last time a physical PPG player built for the playoffs and a $2M cap hit for two playoff runs was traded ?
The reason we’re shopping Bertuzzi is because he’s likely gone at the end of his contract and doesn’t fit our core. This isn’t hard to understand. They aren't because other teams don't put that much value into a player like Bertuzzi, so the team ends up just keeping them. If Bertuzzi was actually a proven PPG player we wouldn't even be having this discussion as he'd been seen as a core piece by Detroit. There is a reason you guys are shopping Bertuzzi and not Larkin.

Larkin is one year younger, might as well sell him too since he doesn't fit your core.
If age isn't the reason he doesn't fit your core, then it's because Detroit doesn't value Bertuzzi enough as a player, which is a bit odd considering he's a PPG physical winger. If that's the case, why would another team pay up a top prospect + 1st + for a player Detroit doesn't want in their long-term plans?
What part of this are you not understanding. Bertuzzi is only under control for 1.5 more years. We are not contending in these 1.5 years. Why keep him around to just come in 9-10 place in the conference and have him leave for nothing? It’s been pretty well known he doesn’t want to sign here long term, and with the way he plays we don’t want to sign him long term either.Larkin is one year younger, might as well sell him too since he doesn't fit your core.
