Cooley vs Knies

Is like Nylander vs Bunting

One player is clearly further ahead abd generates the main offense.

Knies will be a good compliment top 6 player. Cooley will be a 1st line play driver

Yep, have only seen a handful of games/partial games.

Sorry that my opinion doesn't align with yours, just really think Cooley is getting overhyped.

Knies drives play more efficiently to me, Cooley is flashier and he tries to do too much.

Cooley is a better prospect but I also think he has a high chance of being a mediocre player (he is more likely going to be a top-line player)

We'll see, I haven't heard a ppg player being a better play driver than a 120 pt player before

Knies projections have a Wayne Simmonds(peak)/Rick Nash(grittier) Ceiling

Cooley projections have a higher end player then that, and his play style will let him be a PP wizard at minimim if his offense does not translate at 5v5

Cooley had a D+1 season like Kyle Connor in the NCAA and he became a superstar. Expecting similar 80-90 pt production from Cooley

Kids going to get a look for a few games probably. He’ll have to have some monster games to knock anyone out of the playoff starting lineup now. Injury fill in or a desperation lineup change if someone is bombing after a few losses in a row.

Connor was at 1.87, Cooley is at 1.58... pretty big gap.

Couldn't find a D+1 similar (Connor is not similar), maybe Boeser?

I think your evaluation is off.

But you are allowed to feel how you want.

Knies will get the 2 game look on different lines.

But 100% I feel Keefe won't bump anyone down that's played and participated in this team the whole year for one kid with high potential.

Game 1 Knies will sit 100% IMO.

But if the moment we lose and someone on this roster is struggling that isn't the big stars, Knies will get a look.

How can we watch the Final Four championship game tonight to see Knies?

On any tv in Canada?
In Canada, the game is on TSN+.

TSN+ is a web channel available through TSN.ca or the TSN app. To access it, you must either subscribe to TSN through their web site or have TSN through your TV provider.

IMO no-one can say if Knies will start in the play-offs or not at this point. The Leafs will have to sigh him (very likely according to all reports) then play him in a couple of games first before any decisions will be made. He could come in an instantly click with a couple of players and form an effective line OR he could be overwhelmed with the speed and skill of NFL players.

We don't know how he will react or perform. Educated guesses can be made by those that have watched him a lot (not me) but they are still guesses. (not that we shouldn't talk about those guesses/opinions, as that's the fun of the board but, lets not state anything as face just yet.)

Can't see him starting Round 1, personally, and then as the series progresses and gets down to crunch time it's harder to put him into those kind of games. Maybe he steps in at the start of Round 2 should the Leafs move on, and then assess from there. If he isn't keeping up then take him out after Game 1 or 2.

If all of our top 13 forwards are healthy going into game 1, ZAR almost certainly is the one who comes out of the lineup, he isn't even a factor on the PK. He's had a nice regular season for his standards and is an effective 4th line winger at even strength, but if Knies is the reason why Dubas laid off adding a top 6 winger upgrade at the deadline then Keefe will almost certainly play him. Theoretically Knies coming into the lineup over ZAR should also improve scoring depth in the bottom 6.

Another possibility depending on ref assignments for the series, is if the league assigns refs to the series who are 100% known Bunting haters, Keefe might as well just consider scratching him because if he doesn't, Bunting will probably be rendered useless by the refs anyway. Other guys who are struggling like Kerfoot and Kampf should be scratch possibilities, but Keefe would never consider it because they are too important to the PK.

ZAR scratched:
Bunting-Matthews-Jarnkrok
Knies-Tavares-Marner
Kerfoot-ROR-Nylander
Lafferty-Kampf-Acciari
ZAR

If refs are Bunting haters:
Knies-Matthews-Jarnkrok
Nylander-Tavares-Marner
Kerfoot-ROR-Acciari
ZAR-Kampf-Lafferty
Bunting

Thats the mistake a lot of people doing, considerate knies like he is at the offensive level he could be in 2 or 3 year

ZAR has been scoring goals and playing well. He should not be scratched to give a college kid an audition. If some of our older or core players sit a game for maintenance purposes, I have no issue with Knies getting wet.

Don't expect him to have a playoff usage unless we have multiple injuries surface.

I would love a Cinderella story where Knies is the guy who gets it done tonight and wins a Championship… then joins the Leafs and contributes to a second Championship.

I think realistically, the best case scenario would be a similar jolt to the lineup that Caufield provided for the Habs 2 years ago as a rookie in the playoffs.
