Knies is playing on a truly stacked college team. His line mates are Cooley-who could easily have been the first pick in the draft last year-and Dave Snuggerud a terrific and good sized 2 way forward who went in the middle of the first round last year. It is unfair to expect what some posters are expecting...

Expecting him to be better than someone on the 4th line isn't crazy I don't believe, haven't seen posters saying they expect more than that out of him. Anything else would be a bonus and he looks like one of those players who has the size, speed, skill and smarts to thrive in that type of role very well.

They benefited from playing with knies. 🥸

Watching him play right now against BU. Great hands, size but not sure his skating is good enough yet. He’s got top six potential but I don’t think he’s ready to face Tampa or Boston in the playoffs. Might need a season with the Marlies to develop as a Pro first.

Completely disagree.

I think he will easily fit in as a top 9LW and wouldn't look out of place anywhere from lines 1-3.

His skating looks above average to me. His size, hands, and shot are his strengths though.

Most games I watch he looks better than Cooley who many are talking about being up for the Calder next year.

I hope you’re right but I don’t see it. I’m not saying to not see how he looks in a couple of games before the playoffs but I think the expectations of the fan base on him right now are too high. Who does he replace in the top 9 for the series against Tampa ?

Lafferty

If he signs, and looks like he probably will, have to figure he plays all three games next week, no?

With home ice wrapped, I see some bodies getting a rest (for sure in the games vs FLA and TB.

As for him dressing in the playoffs, I feel that is highly unlikely barring an injury. Who would he logistically replace?

Knies is going to play, drumroll please.................................

Tomorrow night for the college championship.

You're all welcome. :)

Don't see how you can break up Lafferty, Accari, Kampf with how they've played the last few games.

Knies will have a hard time cracking the playoff lineup as currently constructed, IMO. I'd like to see him replace Kerfoot, but that's not happening.

They haven't been playing together. But that was Lafferty's first really good game, if he keeps it up, I want him in.

At this point, I'd drop ZAR I guess.

I don't know what the ideal lineup is, and I think this is a good problem.

If you think Knies will be a difference maker, then your expectations of this team are abysmal.

It's one thing to dominate college kids when you're bigger and stronger than they are.

When you move to a league where almost everyone is stronger than you are, things are different, and you need to do a lot of adjusting very quickly.

He will need a training camp to see just where he needs to grow, so I think throwing him into the lions den is likely not the best thing for the kid.

Idk. Personally our bottom six is looking very good. RAR is on a tear. Why would you sit him for an unproven college kid?

You’re not asking Knies to come in and be the saviour. You’re not even asking Knies to come in and play in the top six. All the pressure will be on our core players, Matthews, Marner, Tavares, Nylander and Rielly.

All Knies has to do is be better than Aston Reese really.

Jarnkrok - Matthews - Nylander
Bunting - Tavares - Marner
Knies - O’Reilly - Kerfoot
Acciari - Kampf - Lafferty

Give me those lines and I’d be pretty happy.

Must be a small sample size

Cooley vs Knies

Is like Nylander vs Bunting

One player is clearly further ahead abd generates the main offense.

Knies will be a good compliment top 6 player. Cooley will be a 1st line play driver
