Wow, way to kill my mood .

This is tragic.

Hank is the best in the world and will be in the HOF sometime in the next 20 years. **** anyone who thinks otherwise.

The Rangers lost to the better team. Plain and simple.

But I'm happy for the run. Being in th Cup Finals again was fun - frustrating but fun at the same time. Too many players didn't play as expected but I have no interest in breaking down this team's flaws tonight.

LGR!!!!

Man this one stings. Could not be prouder of this team and how they came together this season. I just feel horrible for Hank, dude played his absolute heart out and deserves to have his name on the cup. Damnnnnnnnnnn....so close.

There is nothing I care more about than Rangers hockey. I watch football, but it's whatever. I watch baseball playoffs if a NY team is in it. Basketball, whatever.

It's hockey year round for me, nothing else matters remotely close in sports. I envy you guys who are diehards of other teams. I have every ounce of my fandom directed at the Rangers. This leaves me gutted.

Same.

Times like right now I wish I could really get into baseball or the World Cup. I mean I'm a fan of the Yankees but I don't have the emotionally attachment to them like I do the Rangers.

It certainly won't feel like a short summer to me. Long wait till October.

We had a hell of a run, but we just weren't good enough in the end. Really proud of what we accomplished though. No one in their right mind would have though we would make it his far after the start we had to the season. It was an amazing run and something we can build on with the right front office moves.

Personally I'm not that disappointed after this loss. I didn't think we could pull out four straight wins against this Kings team.

What is heartbreaking though is watching Hank sitting in the locker room with his head buried in his hands. That brings a tear to my eye. That guy really deserved to hoist the cup.

Even if Hank never wins a cup, he has proven to the world he is one of the greatest goalies to ever play in this league. He can stand with pride. I feel for him.

Everyone here keeps saying this series was lost in Game 2. In my opinion, it was lost 1 game earlier in Game 1. We came flying out of the gate, scoring 2 goals. We HAD TO WIN THAT GAME and our defense came up small when it mattered most.

Stepan giving the puck away at the end of the first was the turning point in the series, in my opinion. That juiced L.A. up, then they tied it, and won in O.T. People blame Girardi, but that game never should have even gone to O.T.

This series will be remembered for 3 overtime games that never should have gone to overtime had we been able to protect a lead. The first game, in my opinion, was the most crucial loss. We win that, and we plant the seed of doubt in L.A. and there would be a very good chance we go up 2-0. We go up 2-0 coming home, and we most likely win the cup.

I think that's what we needed to do, truthfully. Winning one game in L.A. wouldn't have been enough. We needed BOTH and we almost had both. Wasn't meant to be.

Extremely proud, but at the same time extremely disappointed in the way it happens. With three out of four losses coming in overtime says it all. Not much clutch in this team is it? Judging by their salaries, it is Nash and Richie that should be men for this occasion, but off course no.... Just EFFIN NO!

And how typical is it that the ******* Gaborik shows up for the Kings, when he always was a no show and soft as white bread when he played on Broadway. My Gaborik jersey will stay in the closet FOREVER!

Build on this and come back next year. Minor adjustments... But I'm having difficulties seeing this happening next year. Please don't make the waiting last 20 more years... :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

So wrong.

Gabby was great here and deserves a cup. Him and Kopitar are the only likable players on that trash Kings team.

**** Dustin Brown.

He's a ****ing inspiration. So many professional athletes at the end of the day don't give a **** because they make millions and live great lives. Lots of them are on our team.

This bothers him to the core and he feels it like we do. I respect him so much for that. He cares so much and has all the talent in the world, just doesn't have the team in front of him to bring him to the top.

Lundqvist is superhuman but I fear he's going to end up like Patrick Ewing unless the Rangers land some offensive wunderkind through the draft or some trade.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not attached to any team the way I am with the Rangers.

I'm right there with you. But I just have to hope and imagine that one day, when their victory comes, it will just feel that much sweeter.

These are supposed to be the best refs in the league and they blow two massive calls in third periods. That's ****ing disgusting. The Kings may very well have been the better team, but they got ridiculous amounts of help from the officiating.

Henrik's still awesome. McDonagh's incredible. And despite getting robbed on two breakaways, Kreider really showed himself as a big time player during this run posting 13 points in 15 playoff games.

Buy out Richards. Find some way to keep Stralman. They absolutely have to do it. If there's a good offer out there for Nash, I can't see passing it up. He did all of the little things well, but the utter lack of production was unacceptable. It's stunning how poor he is at hanging onto the puck in the offensive zone.

So proud of the guys. What a fun ride they brought us all along for. That might have been the closest 5 game series in the history of the NHL. Every game could have gone one way or the other except for game 3. A bounce here or there, and the Rangers are lifting the cup. A bounce here or there, and the Kings lift the cup on Wednesday.

I'll remember that. Most hockey fans won't, but I know Rangers fans will.

Too bad close doesn't mean ****, but for now, it's solace.

I don't know how much longer it'll be until the Rangers are back there, four wins away from Lord Stanley's Cup. This was a fun ride. I was proud to be a part of it.

3.5 months 'til October.

It's very hard for me to sit here and be legitimately upset about this season. Don't get me wrong, it hurts to be so close to winning it all only to have it taken away. But, what the team and coaching staff proved this season went beyond what I (and most other fans) expected.

From the off-season all the way until December, I was questioning the future of this team. I figured the holes that we needed to fill to one day win the cup were too large in quantity in comparison to the elite years of play that Lundqvist had left. I was unsure of how an entirely different system, under a new coaching staff, would bode with our current core players.

To see them make it this far has surely silenced some of that doubt for me. Unlike last season, this team had an identity. They'll beat you with their superior speed and defense. Each player understood their role, and most of them played it damn well. The blossoming development of McDonagh and reemergence of Staal after all of those injuries leads me to believe this defensive unit will be on the best in this league for years to come. For the first time in my young life the team exemplified resiliency and a competent powerplay throughout the season. At various points, this team actually won games thanks to their special teams and often snatched the momentum away from the other team after they scored. Watching the team be mediocre season after season made this not only seem surreal but unfathomable in years past.

I'm only 21, but this has definitely been the most memorable season that I have witnessed. It has been one of the few times in my life that I was proud to live and breathe Rangers' hockey. With some realistic moves in regards to forwards, this team can be a contender for the next few seasons. Things are looking bright and I've never enjoyed being a fan of this team more than I have now.

Thank you for the unforgettable memories, Rangers.

Perfectly said.

He hates losing more than any athlete I have ever watched.

I agree and disagree. If Dan O'Halloran doesn't steal Game 2 from us we're 3-2 going back to the Garden right now. The Kings are good, but the Rangers are very, very good too.

The team, I believe, can win a Cup as constructed, especially with literally one shrewd move (replacing Richards with a good center).

Funny tweet by Couture, but losing in the SCF is worse than the 1st round no matter how they lost. The Rangers were 3 wins away from the ultimate prize. A few bounces here and there, it could've been them lifting the cup tonight. Way worse than losing in round 1, massive choke job by SJ and all IMO.

Whoever leaked this photo should have their press rights revoked for good.

Henrik...you make this loss easier to get through knowing you take it as hard as we do.

Thanks for everything.

Lundqvist is superhuman but I fear he's going to end up like Patrick Ewing unless the Rangers land some offensive wunderkind through the draft or some trade.

Except Hank is the best goaltender in the league and has been since maybe his 3rd year in the league and it's not even close.

Ewing was elite, but there were other guys at his level.

If only we could have won Game 1. That set the tone for the entire series.

Even if we won tonight, we still most likely lose Game 6 or Game 7. Maybe it's better they lost tonight and not have L.A. parade the cup around MSG Game 6.

I really wish I could just be one of those people who shuts the tv off and immediately goes to bed.

I stood in the same ******* position for 15 minutes after they scored. Finally moved to the couch and sat there for the next ~90 minutes watching postgame. When postgame ended and MSG started again from the beginning I sat there and watched that **** again until finally removing myself to the bedroom minutes ago. Now Ill just sit here for another hour.
