My favorite moments from 2014:

1. Beating the Devils AND Islanders in the Stadium Series at Yankee Stadium.

2. Beating Philly in the playoffs. (With Carcillo flipping off the Flyers fans!!!!)

3. Beating Pittsburgh in the playoffs and winning Game 7 on THEIR ice after being down 3-1! We overcame the Penguin curse!

4. Beating Montreal! I hate Subban! Such a diving team...would've KILLED me if they beat us in the ECF.

5. St. Louis overtime goal Game 4 vs. Montreal!

Anyone got anymore?

Speed kills and Rangers have it in spades. It's why they could've just as easily won. The Tortarella style will not win in today's NHL.

I'm disappointed, but I used to break and toss things when they lost. Today I didn't.

We'll be good again next year. Lundqvist has a few more whacks at the prize if he plays like this.

Plenty of talent - you never know with injuries and the like, but I like the direction of this team. Get rid of Richards, use the money for someone who can finish (the real reason they lost, apart from the refs (I can't get over THAT).

I agree with this a hundred percent. I'm oddly not upset right now. I turned off the tv after the OT goal and saved myself the heartache. Maybe I'll watch the replays in a couple of weeks. But I do see a great future for this team.

By far the hardest trophy to win in sports. Nothing even compares.

My lifelong friend and I were just on the phone talking about that.

The Stanley Cup is truly special. A cliche that gets tossed around a lot but here it really fits.

St.Louis scores on mothers day.
D.Moore with the GWG at MSG game 6.

I'm so ****ing proud of these guys. BUT, Team needs finishers. Not finishers that 'Sather' trades for. Finishers that are homegrown. What I hate most is that this team can never enter a 'rebuilding' process because it is apart of a huge city in New York. What hurts most from all this is the lost 1st round pick from making the ECF.

So you would have rather they lost in the first or second round to save a draft pick?

It's amazing how all my teams have fallen short in my life, while other NY teams that I HATE seem to always win championships.

METS: 2006, 20 years since 1986 )just like this years 20th anniversary run with the Rangers)...they blow the pennant in Game 7 at home after Endy Chavez's amazing catch. Still end up losing the game. Cardinals win the World Series.

JETS: 2009/2010 Back-to-back AFC championship losses.

RANGERS: 2014, 20 years since the cup in 1994. They lose in the finals in the most heart-breaking fashion. A mixture of bad luck, and bad calls do them in.

Meanwhile, teams I HATE:

YANKEES: 1996, 1998, 1999 and worst of all 2000 when they beat my Mets in the freakin' World Series...AT SHEA.

GIANTS: 2007, 2011. They win the Superbowl "against all odds" beating the powerhouse Patriots and then beating them AGAIN. Ugh.

DEVILS: In my adult life, saw them win in 2000 and then AGAIN in 2003. Upset us in the ECF in 2012 as well, ruining our chance at a cup.

But of all the painful experiences, this is the worst. Because of Hank, and how bad he wanted it. I thought for sure he'd be putting up all the pieces to that Stanley Cup puzzle this year. But we fell 3 pieces short.

It hurts, and it's going to hurt more in the weeks ahead. Right now, I'm just in shock. Oh well, that's life. SOMEDAY, one of my teams will win it all. And I hope it's the Rangers who do it first.

For Hank.

I'm right there with you. Pretty inconsolable right about now. And the worst thing was that you just knew LA had nothing left in the tank if this went 6 and beyond.

Great season. I hope the Rangers respond better than the '07 Mets.

Marty St. Louis will forever have my respect after the personal sacrifice he made for this franchise during this playoff run. Great player, great leader, and I'm gonna miss him a lot when he hangs 'em up.

At the moment, yes, I'm the proudest I've ever been of this team in my life. Only time will tell if it was a real payoff.

But I guess that could be said about anything in life.

It already was a real payoff. We were in the SCF. I'll do that trade seven days a week and forty five times on Sunday.

That's what hurts even more. Had we pulled it out in double OT or so, this was going to go to 7 games in my mind. I know we constantly said the Kings had no gas left, but it was really noticeable in double OT. The other hand, the Rangers would have also been fatigued as hell. So...

Absolutely not. I'm proud of what the team accomplished this season, It's the greatest I've ever seen the Rangers play in my lifetime. I was just stating my opinion on one of the downsides to making it this far.

I wonder if people realize if they truly knew anything about NHL shots, they would be in the NHL and not typing about it.

All this talk about that one moment. Nash is paid to produce. In a capped league 3 goals in the playoffs and no points in the finals is unacceptable. Period. Plenty of players out there that hustle and play good defense for a fraction of the cap space.

The most expensive third line utility player EVER.

When you put it that way, I agree. **** 'What could have been'. This is what happened, and I'll take this turn of events over 'What Could Have Been' any day.

Unbelievable season. Would have been amazing to finish with a cup, but still so proud of this team.

I can't wait till next season.

It's amazing - that despite being labeled complete underdogs, despite not playing our best hockey, despite our best players not only disappearing for the most part but also being detriments to our success at times, despite not getting any bounces for 4 out of the 5 games we played.... despite all of that, what did our team in were two of the most untimely and head scratching penalty calls (or lack thereof) seen in this year's playoffs.

In my mind, we could be up 3-2 in the series heading back to MSG easily right now. Easily.

The King no call and the Zucc tripping penalties will live in infamy in Rangers history. It's a shame.

Great season. A lot of great memories. So ****ing proud watching them pour it all out there and go toe to toe with the Stanley Cup Champs.

Good night y'all. See you guys in a couple of months (maybe an occasional cameo here and there in between).

LGR.
