Wow you are saying if he took a better shot...

As I recall the puck deflected over the glass about 20 rows...if it was a weak shot it doesn't go over the glass

Care to elaborate how Girardi is able to pull it off constantly from the blue line?

Girardi was injured, his passes used to be very accurate and he was having trouble even handling the puck. I'd guess a broken hand/finger or something.

Then shame on him for not taking himself out. If the injury is affecting his play that badly, he needs to be out. But he also got burned a number of times in the series. Broken hand doesn't account for that.

Random thought:

Since when did Willie Mitchell become Chris Pronger? Gave me hope for McIlrath, TBH. Could be very valuable in a series like this.

Was it just me or did Zucc just abuse him every time on the forecheck. Swear Zucc put him on his ass at least once per game

I don't know why I even go to the main boards. Apparently McDonagh sucks while pressured. I think they confused #27 with #5. Though he did look silly on one of the most important goals of the series (goal 4 in game 2).

It's amazing how all my teams have fallen short in my life, while other NY teams that I HATE seem to always win championships.

METS: 2006, 20 years since 1986 )just like this years 20th anniversary run with the Rangers)...they blow the pennant in Game 7 at home after Endy Chavez's amazing catch. Still end up losing the game. Cardinals win the World Series.

JETS: 2009/2010 Back-to-back AFC championship losses.

RANGERS: 2014, 20 years since the cup in 1994. They lose in the finals in the most heart-breaking fashion. A mixture of bad luck, and bad calls do them in.

Meanwhile, teams I HATE:

YANKEES: 1996, 1998, 1999 and worst of all 2000 when they beat my Mets in the freakin' World Series...AT SHEA.

GIANTS: 2007, 2011. They win the Superbowl "against all odds" beating the powerhouse Patriots and then beating them AGAIN. Ugh.

DEVILS: In my adult life, saw them win in 2000 and then AGAIN in 2003. Upset us in the ECF in 2012 as well, ruining our chance at a cup.

But of all the painful experiences, this is the worst. Because of Hank, and how bad he wanted it. I thought for sure he'd be putting up all the pieces to that Stanley Cup puzzle this year. But we fell 3 pieces short.

It hurts, and it's going to hurt more in the weeks ahead. Right now, I'm just in shock. Oh well, that's life. SOMEDAY, one of my teams will win it all. And I hope it's the Rangers who do it first.

For Hank.

Islander's fan coming in peace. Jus wanted to tip my hat to you guys. What a great year, and though Kings win it in 5, 3 wins were in OT, those games were so close and tight, those games could have gone either way, and the 3-0 loss, you guys dominated but were unlucky. Closest 5 game series I've ever seen. I thought the Western Conference is the most dominant, but the Rangers showed how good the Eastern Conference is, and how scary the Rangers are as a team, just extremely talented team with a 1st ballot Hall of Fame goalie. The Rangers certainly are worthy Eastern Conference Champs.

You have my respect, and my jealousy, I hope to live long enough to see My Islanders make it back to the Finals one day. You guys should be very proud of your great team, they put on a fantastic show. Congrats guys, hold your heads up high, your team will be a force to reckon with once again next year.

^this for me^

What an exciting game a
Too watch as a hockey fan.

Henrik is an animal and I'm convinced there is not 5 Defensman in the NhL Better than MCD.

Congrats on your season and being eastern champs.

Tremendous season. So entertaining and so emotional.

I hope you younger guys really appreciate this year. It's damn hard to win the Stanley Cup. Years like this make you appreciate the game so much. Stanley Cup teams are incredibly difficult to build and maintain. What a great season.

Can't wait for the draft, rookie camp, free agency and training camp starts in 12 weeks!

Again, I was only defending tonight. He made a ton of strong defensive plays that none on here will ever acknowledge. But **** up a pass and you're an HF scapgoat.

I'm a big G fan, but it was more than 1 pass tonight. I think it started in the 1st period he made one of his bonehead pass along the blueline in the o zone.

You left off the Islanders. :naughty:

By far the hardest trophy to win in sports. Nothing even compares.

Literally no NHLer is going to take himself out during the finals. Ever.

Not only that but a gimped Girardi is still better than a healthy Diaz/Falk if you ask me.

Nash is an empty jersey. The guy shows up one in every five games in the regular season, and one in twenty during the playoffs. But with his bloated contract, we're stuck with his lazy ass for a while.

Richards needs to go. The dude gave everything he had, but he's just toast. It's amazing how a guy like St. Louis, being 5 years older, can look so much fresher than Richards.

It's the thunder thighs.

Pouliot and Kreider??

Who gives a **** about toughness, the game is moving away from that and this year showed it more then any other.

The game is moving away from fighting...the Rangers are very easy to play against especially in their own zone...would like to see them move away from laying down in the defensive zone to knocking people down in the defensive zone.

To be fair to Richards ... he really busted his ass this year and gave everything he had and gave us a decent year just gassed out by the SCF. So hats off to him and no ill will or bad feelings but yes definitely need to move on with him. Nothing personal, love the guys heart.

Pretty sure neither would have gotten burned as badly as Girardi did. But to each their own.

I'm so ****ing proud of these guys. BUT, Team needs finishers. Not finishers that 'Sather' trades for. Finishers that are homegrown. What I hate most is that this team can never enter a 'rebuilding' process because it is apart of a huge city in New York. What hurts most from all this is the lost 1st round pick from making the ECF.

We must be watching different Ranger teams...in my universe Girardi and one timer don't ever go together in the same sentence.

Losing the first round pick doesn't hurt at all since we made the Cup finals.

No, you said if it was a weak shot then it wouldn't have deflected the way it did. Well, G either shoots it wide, into defenders, or it nips something and completely goes out.
