The hits keep coming. Patrick Johnston taking his shots.

It's been quite the few days since the break, two bad losses where the team really needed its highly paid offensive drivers and team leaders to produce, the 3 point lead over the Flames quickly evaporating, the IMac and Johnston articles, and electronic media having their say.

Meanwhile, J-T-MILLER with 3 goals and 5 points as Rangers go 2-1 in their 3 games.

I'll add, I'm a print guy, I'm not on social media and don't do podcasts, so Vector's work here is both invaluable and commendable. Kudos to him.
In the past two years the Canucks have traded away Horvat, Kuzmenko, Miller and replaced them with Debrusk, Sherwood, Chytil In the name of defence and then people are wondering why they can't score when they have a coach who isn't known for his offence either.

The Canucks have the 3rd least amount of cap space projected into next season already. Not enough to sign one of the big three free agents forwards either.

Management has their team and will be banking on everything going perfect again next season, if not then more of this year.

This is almost entirely incorrect with only some truth to Kuzmenko. Miller and Horvat absolutely were not traded “in the name of defence”, and while Kuzmenko sucked at defense, he also just sucked in general by the time he was traded and has sucked afterwards as well.

Trade Proposal:

Brock (40% Retained)

for

Sam O'Reilly

Brock can slot in on 2 lines. On RNH or Drai's RW. They have Brown and Savoie on that side now and I think its a huge concern for them. Oilers are win now and can't keep wasting years of McDrai.

I mean we know the media here is self serving and petty

How the heck is it incorrect. The picks from Miller and Horvat trade were both used on Hronek and M.Petey. Those are both defenders, who aren't offensive juggernauts.

It's a safe bet that no player is annoyed by Petey's point totals while playing with tendinitis and only being surpassed by Hughes

If they are annoyed at Petey, it is because he kicks puppies and spits on kittens

Patrick Johnston's whining would be annoying, except that the concerted character assassination is so toxic, I know we all love it as much as I do

Imagine how unhappy I was before the advent of social media

Oh, I see what you are saying. Ya, that makes sense. I thought you meant they were traded because they were poor defensively.

Was a print guy as well, I'm just a bit behind my own time but only because I got to see the worst side of late-stage capitalism early. Pretty soon all journos will be AI outfits run by the ruling elite at this rate. People don't take well to the truth, sometimes. Especially when it's needlessly critical. And sometimes there are more sides to the truth than just one.

Vector seems to not care about the outside noise. Not more or less critical than he has to be. That's a great skill, I have a difficult time controlling that side of the business myself.

Wish we had JT Miller.

The only way to stop a bad JT Miller is a good JT Miller???

I don't know. JT is great but he's a game-within-the-game guy. And only because he's a veteran was he that way. He claimed to get it and said to thank AV, but then he'd do diva shit like stop backchecking, extended shifts, stupid turnovers, etc.

It is a possibility, not that coaches have been losing the room, but JT Miller burned through every coach and lost the room by the end of things. It's been a "writing on the wall" kind of season. And we're still in the hunt. Usually teams in this position go on big streaks one way or the other. The fact my eyes report to me is that the inconsistency has been painfully consistent.

I had the Canucks at 98 point this season and at the bottom of the playoff bracket. But I don't feel like this team has the same quit in it as other Canucks incarnations. There's only one other season that was this painfully consistently inconsistent...

I'm manifesting this franchises' revenge era.

All good. At the time of Horvat traded. Canucks had 3 PPG centers and are now down to 3 half a PPG centers. That's probably had an effect on all of the wingers. Circumstances dictated managements actions but they may have got in wrong in the long term.

Wish they traded for Cozens and Byram when they had the chance.
did they have that chance?

and if we are second guessing on hypotheticals, it might have been better to trade demko and ep40 to the canes for whatever that would have returned.

It’s impossible, according to various posters with Jersey Devil-based avatars.
we sign jack hughes in 2030 and then luke demands a trade. obviously.

Why do I find the sudden urge to kick puppies and spit on kittens?

The Rangers are ass, with Miller included. Sure, they "won" that game against PIT on the weekend. But the Rangers were an abomination. Absolutely dominated. It was a pathetic showing that was only somehow salvaged by a masterful tank performance from PIT's goalies.

The Rangers are awful defensively. It's a perfect fit for Miller. Defensive coverage and backchecking are optional.

Kittens are a pretty small target for spit. Does he spit on a whole basket of them?
