Great season. Just those damn 3rd periods and not burying OT chances.

I feel so bad for Henrik. But I'm confident this team is capable of taking the next step and winning it all. Hope the front office figures away to retain as much of this roster as possible.

This series was not deserved for the Kings. They can be congratulated by the media and the NHL. We should be up 3-2 right now in this series. We won game 2 and we would have won tonight if it wasn't for another ******** call. The NHL literally stole our chance at the Stanley Cup. If this isn't a fix job, than ****, I don't know what is.

Crushing. Simply devastating.

Henrik deserves better, but sadly will likely never recharge this stage again.

Even though it hurts so bad right now, this was truly a remarkable season. It would have been even more perfect with a fairy tale cup. The outdoor games, the coming back after the horrid start, the epic comeback vs Pitt, Dom returning to the nhl, Marty rallying after his mom passed...

3 OT losses, and the other we outshot them 2 to 1. Even if we had to lose, I wish this went 7 so everyone could appreciate how close this team was; how hard they battled. It's just... ::sigh::

Agreed. A lot of it is on AV for not reducing his ice time to something more manageable for him.

Amazing how many coaches are on this board. None of you would be any good as a coach. Girardi is one of the Rangers rocks on defense. 5th in the entire league in hits in the postseason. You ride your horses. Girardi has as much heart and guts as anyone in the league.

Not afraid to admit it. Im druink as ****, but...I cried. A bit of tears flowed when that goal went in. Given that, what a season by the Ragners, I thank them so much for that. We didn't "lose", I'm not mad, but it hurts. What a great season.
We didnt; desrve to be 3-0 down, lietrally if we had better bounces, we'd be the ones that won 4-1. Not atl all uspet.

LET'S GO RANGERS!!!!!!!

It wasn't a fix job. They were just awful calls that were inexplainable. They tried to make up for the calls. They gave us power plays to make up for the calls. In game 2 we couldn't finish. Tonight the break that has happened all playoffs long for the Kings just never happened for us. Couple of posts, wide open net foiled by an errant stick.

Destiny chose the Kings.

I agree with this a hundred percent. I'm oddly not upset right now. I turned off the tv after the OT goal and saved myself the heartache. Maybe I'll watch the replays in a couple of weeks. But I do see a great future for this team.

I'm as sick as anyone over the loss. And I don't think Sather put much thought into AV as a coach. But whatever, I like the direction AV is taking the team. I love speedy teams.

This team reminds me a little of the Herb Brooks teams of the early '80's. They gave the great Islander teams fits with much less talent, because they had tremendous speed.

I want the Hagelins on my team, even if he's only a 15 goal scorer - he's so dangerous he keeps the other team on their heels.

And TBH, I'd take McD over Doughty. He's a special player.

Srlsy, it's not like it was a "NHL decision", we just couldn;t finish. Game 1, 2 in OT, GAME 3, THE ****ING CHANCES WE HAD!!! Replayeed on sportscenter for a reason. And today, 2 posts away from a Game 6. Hurts.

Marty St. Louis will forever have my respect after the personal sacrifice he made for this franchise during this playoff run. Great player, great leader, and I'm gonna miss him a lot when he hangs 'em up.

Completely agree. Losing his mother unexpectedly, then going out and keeping his head in the game, playing effectively before she is even laid to rest? Amazing perseverance.

He was noticeably one of our worst 2 defenders in the series, along with Staal.

Something was wrong with both of them.

Before this game, G was on for 7/11 LA goals. Was the direct cause of our game 1 loss. That play continued for the next 4 games.

I wonder which finals loss was more painful for AV: The 2011 Canucks, or this one? My vote would be the 2011 Canucks, but man, it must be hard as heck to lose ANOTHER finals with a different team just 3 years later.

The bright side of all this is, at least we didn't lose in 7 games ON HOME ICE the way that team did. That would have literally killed me. They were the better team that series.

I think this series was over after Game 2, to be honest with you. But man, if we could have won tonight, I seriously think this series goes 7 with the Rangers having all the momentum in the world. Wasn't meant to be.

We really got screwed by the refs this series, though. In my opinion, the call on Zucc tonight in the 3rd was even worse than the non-call with Hank in Game 2.

It's weird, because if anything, you'd think the NHL would want this series to go back to NY for Game 6 and possible Game 7. But I guess not.

This series reminds me a lot of the 2000 Mets series vs. the Yankees. Every game was close, but we lost in 5 short games. Mets also blew leads in their series in that World Series.

I never imagined that the Rangers would be a Stanley Cup finalist. Kudos to the team. They competed in a close series against a superior opponent - the Kings didn't have to deal with a broken down Beaver or their best goalscorer scoring only 3 goals throughout the duration of the playoffs. Hank was great and I really hope the organization can pull it together so that he can win a cup wearing a Rangers sweater.

Lack of finish has been an issue throughout the season and it's not entirely surprising that it contributed to their eventual demise. I have a feeling the organization will be focused on finding a replacement for Richards but they also need to concentrate on finding forwards that can finish, especially when it comes to putting in rebounds.

We had a hell of a run, but we just weren't good enough in the end. Really proud of what we accomplished though. No one in their right mind would have though we would make it his far after the start we had to the season. It was an amazing run and something we can build on with the right front office moves.

Personally I'm not that disappointed after this loss. I didn't think we could pull out four straight wins against this Kings team.

What is heartbreaking though is watching Hank sitting in the locker room with his head buried in his hands. That brings a tear to my eye. That guy really deserved to hoist the cup.

Habs fan coming in peace.

Hell of a season for you guys. Hank had a damn good series and you guys deserved so much better. I and many other Canadien fans were rooting for you guys!

Good luck next year and see you at the draft!

Kings played great, deserved to win the SC.

We did, too. It's a ****ing shame the refs stole Game 2 from us and had a huge impact on the game tonight. I'm not that upset, because Game 2 ****ing crushed me. Once we went down 3-0 I braced myself for the series L.

Whatever. We didn't win it and nobody is gonna remember how bad the refs ****ed us next time we're in the Finals. What a ****ing season (post-January on) and i'm excited to see what this team does next year.

Also, **** every fan of every inferior team hating on the Rangers, too. This team will be on a ****ing warpath next year and I can't wait to see them style on the Devils and every other Western Conference team (unless they forfeit since the West is so great and all). We're a Top 5 team in the NHL and we will be for the next 4~ years at the very least. Enjoy it.

I love (and hate, sometimes ;)) all of you guys.

AND they have to come cheap, too.

NFL in a little less than 3 months. Something to get excited about.

There is nothing I care more about than Rangers hockey. I watch football, but it's whatever. I watch baseball playoffs if a NY team is in it. Basketball, whatever.

It's hockey year round for me, nothing else matters remotely close in sports. I envy you guys who are diehards of other teams. I have every ounce of my fandom directed at the Rangers. This leaves me gutted.
