Which brings me back to what I stated earlier which is he could have done 1 of 2 things, and it's not really ridiculous considering everything that has been associated with Nash in these playoffs and his stay so far as a Ranger.

Once again -- please explain to me how he would do that on a split second one-timer. I think the fact that you haven't means that you don't know.

Seeing how Hank elevated this game in these playoffs, you gotta believe the Rangers have a very good chance of making another appearance soon.

“@DaveLozo: Henrik Lundqvist is literally inconsolable. Teammates coming over to console him and he wants none of it.â€

:help:

Poor guy. He deserves a Stanley Cup. He knows how big this opportunity was. He could be one of the best goaltenders to ever play the game who never wins a Stanley Cup.

I feel for the guy.

Hopefully, Sather can put together a team that can better compete with the powerhouses of the NHL (I'm not talking about Montreal or Philadelphia, but the Bruins, Kings, Blues, Sharks, Blackhawks, Ducks, etc.) and Lundqvist will have his day as a Cup Champion.

I don't even know why we are discussing Nash to be honest. The biggest problem I had in this overtime was McDonagh. He hit the post. He couldn't have just shot one inch further to the left and won it in the first OT? Unbelievable that he forced us to play an extra period and then lose just because he couldn't aim it one inch to the left more.

“@PLeonardNYDN: Girardi on wearing jersey in room: "There’s nowhere to go. I just kept it on. I’m hanging on to the last moments here. I’ve got nothing."”

The game went past midnight, making the date June 14, 2014. Exactly 20 years to the day when we won the cup.

I sincerely hope a flask/bottle is being passed around between Trautwig, Duguay, Micheletti, and Sam during this post game.

McD lead the team in points. The defender who we have for another few years at a steal.

Nash..

McDonagh, Stepan, Kreider, Hagelin, Brassard, and Zucc are all still relatively young. The experience will be valuable moving forward, IMO.

And McDonagh might take a ridiculous step forward next season.

McDonagh can be a Norris Finalist and Lundqvist can be a Vezina Finalist and they would still lose to a team like LA because they don't have the heavy hitters.

Also think MSL will be great next year. Had to be an insane long year for him, now he can settle in, and we all know the guy trains his ass off.

People want to blame Girardi for the other 4 games...fine. But I have no issues with his play tonight. IMO that is piling on to pile on.

He was atrocious tonight. Look, the guy played well all year, he's a warrior, but to act like he wasn't pathetic this series is some blatant oversight.

He literally had 3 turnovers on one shift tonight. I don't know if I've ever seen anything like that before, let alone in a ****ing SCF.

We seem to be on a "win one, lose one" streak when appearing in the Cup Finals. Since 1940, we're 1-2. If the trend continues, we will win the next one.

Losing in 1950, 1972, 1979, and 2014 while winning in 1994 is a 50/50 ratio now?
