Please keep blaming Nash for that missed shot. I'm getting a good laugh.

Why even defend him though? He needed to be better. We didn't trade away key pieces for this kind of production. You can say "IF" and "BUT" all the time, but at the end of the day, he didn't produce. It drives me nuts the amount of support a lackluster player gets on here. When if it was Lundqvist, and he did absolutely nothing all series, he'd be butchered.

Nash is supposed to be a super star. He's supposed to be a 40 goal scorer. One of the best goal scorers in the NHL. Look at what Gaborik did in LA as one of the best snipers in the NHL?

We traded away depth and heart for this guy, and he didn't produce. That's the end result, no matter how much you want to spin a particular play.

He's a big reason the Rangers lost this series. HUGE. He's a big reason we couldn't close out the Flyers or Penguins in less than 7. He was nothing more than a 3rd line grinder who produced 3 goals in 25 games and did reasonably well on the PK.

I feel absolutely awful for Lundqvist, especially after how he kept us alive for this long. This guy NEEDS to raise the cup over his head at some point and if he doesn't that will be the ultimate shame.

Unless there are massive injuries, they won't miss the playoffs. And true parity? That's not exactly true. This isn't the NFL. Kings, Hawks, Pittsburgh, Boston, Rangers, etc. will all be good again next season.

Maybe. We'll see.

The game of hockey needs to clean up this **** with the refs, it's an embarrassment. I will always feel that this series was tainted by their disgusting calls.

Losing is one thing, losing like this is another.

This, but their lack of finishing is the real story.

Bye Richards.

**** you Rick Nash.

Love everyone else.

Richards HAS to go. Unless Nash is still secretly hurt, he needs to go too! He doesn't do what he's paid to do.

This hurts a lot more than I thought it would

Got hopes up after the 2-1. Was a mistake. :(

I can't believe AV sat back in the third after we had done the same thing three times already and it resulted in disaster each time.

Really pissed off about this!

No one is saying he didn't need to be better. I can't disagree there at all.

But that's not this discussion. This discussion is about one poster who somehow doesn't understand how shots work and thinks Nash should be able to bend the universe to his liking on that single shot.

Nash actually gets killed on this board, so not sure what "amount of support" you are referring to. I think he needs to score more for sure. Won't disagree there at all.

Uh, do you understand how physics works? The puck isn't going to do anything much differently if he hits it harder. It went pretty far over the net with the deflection as is.

Do you want Nash to use Pronger physics or something?

Forgone conclusion that it would have went above the crossbar if he shot it harder, then? Even the insinuation of he could have tried elevating the puck a little higher has resulted in you stating that it too would have been too high.

I blame Tortorella. He said he was on board to trade from Nash. Then we get him and he complains that we traded away too much of our depth. Hence, Gaborik gets traded.

Please state how he would've tried to elevate the puck more on a one time shot with a split second reaction.

He should have delayed and done that Kovalchuk flip goal like he did in the shootout in the olympics I guess. Flick it right over that stick.

I really can't point blame at anyone on this team. We had 4 solid lines. 3 solid d-pairing. Decent goalie. :sarcasm: I loved this team, everyone did their job, even if it was frustrating at times.

Just not enough talent to match up with the Kings. The better team won.

2nd toughest loss I've ever taken. #1 will always be Game 7 of the 2006 NLCS.

It starts with freeing up salary from Nash and Richards to get players who can actually be difference makers.

We don't have a Williams, Carter, Kopitar or Gaborik as a forward. We couldn't match their offense depth.

We couldn't win this series with Nash and Richard's being passengers. They needed to match Gaborik, Carter, etc, and they didn't. Biggest difference of the series.

We don't have high end offensive talent. We need to use some money to bring in someone who can actually make a difference.

Damn Proud of this team, Yes some guys underperformed and I hope management see's that and corrects it. AV will have a full season under his belt and this team should be better.

Refs Blow!

Why didn't bettman mention the Rangers in his speech? ****** bag!

I hope you're all still alive ;)

Did LA deserve to win this game? Well I'm not so sure about the Zuccarello call which became a factor of the outcome, maybe the refs helped them win...maybe not.

Feel a little sorry for Zucc though, I'm sure he feels like the scapegoat.

But I'll have to admit, LA is the better team, it's not like they don't deserve the cup.

It was still a fantastic season by the Rangers :handclap:

Sucks reading all the Rangers quotes on twitter right now. I know how sad I feel, can't imagine the actual players haha.

I'm basically going to copy and paste what i wrote somewhere else because i can't really handle typing this stuff out again.

I never envy'd anyone i knew who was a fan of a team that went to the finals, in any sport, much less my favorite one, and lost. Tonight i got that experience and there are no other words to describe it other than just heart breaking. It didn't help that we deserved better whether it was horrible reffing or just blatant illegal plays. Regardless, This season was something special. From a horrible start, to climbing all the way back for home ice in the playoffs, to over coming the impossible, despite the result, I'm proud of this team. They fought like champs until the bitter end.

Until October, New York Rangers.

Now to drown my sorrows away in the fetal position.

Lifting the puck would actually make no difference as Nash would not know the defender's stick was even there in that spot. He is just looking to one time it on goal and obviously cannot see a spinning defender reaching out with his stick. So changing the height on his shot would have no or minimal effect on the percent chance that that shot got blocked

THANK GOD for the World Cup, that will help me through this the next month and as we move forward into next season.

Rangers were close in 2012 thats what I had said and we got to the Cup two years later...Now I wish we retool and build as a elite team for years.

Win for Henrik and play like they did today every game in the Playoffs and we will win it

Say we dump Nash's salary on someone for a pick or whatever. What are the alternatives? Free agency: Gaborik, Vanek, Stastny? Is that an improvement? An Eric Staal trade?

Random baseless speculation/gut feelings I have:

Staal and Girardi both played hurt. Both injuries will take the summer to heal.

Nash played concussed the rest of the season and the playoffs. LTIR may be his future.

Sather's going to step down. That's the only thing I may have some credible info on. I'd expect the announcement next week if it happens.

People really need to shut up about Nash for a few days. Really?.

The guy outplayed the golden boy Anze Kopitar and co and here we all are in disbelief and all people can do is rag on Nash.

You're defending the shot that was taken and not so much what would happen if the puck was elevated more.

I'd take a gamble on Eric Staal, for sure. I'd definitely rather have him on the team than Nash. Solidifies us more down the middle, and brings in a potential game breaker. Before this season, Staal had what.. six or seven seasons in a row scoring at a 70+ point pace?

He had an off year. And if the price is right, I'd bring in Staal.

Hell, I'd love to have Gaborik back over Nash. He's a proven commodity here already.

Only player I wouldn't want their is Stastny, because I can picture him being a total bust over here.
