It was absolutely a hard shot. It was a one time slap shot. He's not going to get that shot much harder than he did there. Wouldn't have mattered if he did, anyway, as it still would've been deflected. Just because a shot is harder doesn't mean Voynov's stick isn't there.

It is funny how if he held the puck before shooting and didn't one time and then it got blocked or Quick got over and made the save everyone would be on him for not one-timing it. Now he one-times it right on target and the defender gets a great play and people say he should have one-timed it better.

What a ****ing fantastic season, all the way around. Such a short time before things start happening for the offseason too.

...at least my sleep patterns can return to something resembling normalcy.

Can we cut the bickering for one night and just enjoy what we had this year?

Not for nothing but this biggest thing that bothers me is that the 94 lovefest will continue. I loved that year, and it was supremely memorable but Im so tired of hearing about it now. A win this year would have put it to rest finally.

You hear it so much that there are people out there that think that's their only cup.

Why? The 94 team was a great team. Messier, Leetch, Kovalev, Zubov, Richter... Glenn Healy :sarcasm: ... I think the 94 team would have beat this kings team. It's a pretty important thing to mention. Though I guess some might be irritated, but I never was.

If Lundqvist/McDonagh were on that 94 team, they'd have a Stanley Cup right now. Only two players who consistently performed (outside of the Flyers series for McDonagh, where he was brutal).

93-94 team >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 13-14 team

I don't think this 13-14 team is really any better than the 11-12 team. I think they overachieved more and had a more fortuitous path (no Mason, no Price). And I think it helped that Lundqvist was more consistent this run, and that McDonagh was leaps and bounds better than he was in 11-12.

Just an absolute hell of a series, ending in five games does nothing to tell the true story.

Get the **** out of here. Just because it was a one timer doesn't mean he ****ing rocketed it. Compare his one timer to MSL and then come back to me if it's even in the same ballpark.

MSL has a better one timer. What's the problem? MSL has an elite one timer I'm not sure why you would expect almost any one else to be able to match it.

Bingo.

Nash clearly should've been aware of that stick somehow in the puck's path according to certain posters. Nash should just have magical powers to bend the laws of physics, I guess. Or he needs to go on roids so he can shoot the puck so ****ing hard that it bursts through sticks that are in the way.

Because **** sticks in the way. Nash is a *****.

The point eludes you.

It doesn't matter how hard he shoots it as the stick is still there either way. If he shoots it harder, it only goes above the crossbar quicker.

Or it's enough to go in net and not above the crossbar.

Compare his body position to MSL in those situations. MSL is generally stationary and awaiting the pass, Nash had just cycled down.

Losing this series was a lot easier to stomach than losing to the Devils in 2012.

We'll be back though. We've got Hank and we've got McDonagh. And we are in the East after all :P ;)

I felt better losing in 2012, oddly enough. This is the worst I've felt getting knocked out.

All this talk about that one moment. Nash is paid to produce. In a capped league 3 goals in the playoffs and no points in the finals is unacceptable. Period. Plenty of players out there that hustle and play good defense for a fraction of the cap space.

Islander's fan coming in peace. Jus wanted to tip my hat to you guys. What a great year, and though Kings win it in 5, 3 wins were in OT, those games were so close and tight, those games could have gone either way, and the 3-0 loss, you guys dominated but were unlucky. Closest 5 game series I've ever seen. I thought the Western Conference is the most dominant, but the Rangers showed how good the Eastern Conference is, and how scary the Rangers are as a team, just extremely talented team with a 1st ballot Hall of Fame goalie. The Rangers certainly are worthy Eastern Conference Champs.

You have my respect, and my jealousy, I hope to live long enough to see My Islanders make it back to the Finals one day. You guys should be very proud of your great team, they put on a fantastic show. Congrats guys, hold your heads up high, your team will be a force to reckon with once again next year.

They will because of Lundqvist. And will fail because he is the only one stepping it up when it matters.

Was on my way to make another cocktail and was considering how to respond to your post. Was going to say how optimistic I was for the future and then I remembered that Sather is still around. Damn now i really need a double.

^ this. Tonight is not the time to assign blame. Enjoy what they gave us this season.

Uh, do you understand how physics works? The puck isn't going to do anything much differently if he hits it harder. It went pretty far over the net with the deflection as is.

Do you want Nash to use Pronger physics or something?

Congrats to your team. No matter what some fans will say, you deserved to be there 'cause you actually were there. And you play a great team game. It wasn't easy because it finished in 5 games. Congrats again.

But that put's Nash in a bad light, and God forbid Sather has the audacity to inquire other teams of wanting him.
